I Die A Thousand Deaths Each Day!

imagesKQ3GQEGY

When will you stop killing me?
I die a thousand deaths each day.
You kill me over and over again,
and then another me, you slay.

We are all just one big family
but you don’t see me in that way.
You point your weapon at my chest
as though I’m just some hunted prey.

The blood that flows from me,
also pulses through your veins.
And as another me lies dying,
a thousand more of me remains.

So, kill each and every one of me.
And when you’re the last me left to stand,
then the killing will finally end,
when you die by your own hand.

What difference does it make in the name that we give the latest excuse for war? There will always be a ‘group’ of people that will be perceived as evil incarnate and therefore, must be ‘bombed’ into oblivion. Must we ALL have to die for there to be no more war? Must there only be one so-called, ‘human’ left on earth and then what? What would that last ‘human’ do? Kill himself?, that is my guess because after all, what else are we wired for?

So, we’re going to bomb the ‘ISIS be-headers’ club because that will put an end to ‘terrorists’, right? It has worked SO very well thus far, hasn’t it? We ‘arm’ the ‘terrorists’. We train the ‘terrorists’ and then when they become ‘uncontrollable’, we ‘bomb them because they decided on a different course of action than what we initially intended. Sigh!! We never learn.

  1. That is exactly what we do, we pick somebody to back with arms and money and then when they inevitably turn on us (which they always do) then like you said we bomb them into oblivion and then “wash, rinse, repeat” and do it all over again. I don’t know what the answer is to this, but what we are doing isn’t it.

    1. You are right Dom, what we are doing isn’t the answer but we do it anyway because why should all of that military might just go to waste? The U.S. spends more than the entire rest of the world spends on their military, combined to just let all those bombs remain idle. People who are hungry can just go eat dirt. People who are homeless can just dive into a dumpster or beg a box. People who lack health care can just drop dead and the list goes on and on, but our war machine must be well fed with the bodies of enemies that WE, the U.S. made by continuously minding everybody else’s business while ignoring our many ills.

…and the war drums beat on!

      Thank you for your comment!

    1. Well most who come here know what I think of so-called ‘organized’ religion and so I won’t even go there but suffice it to say if religion was practiced religiously’ surely we, the U.S., this ‘christian’ nation, would NOT constantly be pressing the KILL button? Surely? This is a nation of hypocrites, always has been and always will be!

Thank you for your comment and yes, we are doomed!

  3. Reblogged this on lovehappinessandpeace and commented:
I hate even the idea of War. But.

I appreciate what the present govt in India is trying to do, if I read its motives right. modi is made overtures of friendship to all our neighbours. Yet possibly, pakistan, china and lanka, all seem to be trying the patience of India. And there are plenty in the country who want modi to ‘teach’ pakistan and china lessons. But the present govt is saying: ‘Friends might change, but Neighbours do not,’ and is seeking peaceful negotiations.

But in the case of ISIS and similar organizations. I really wonder what my fellow readers would suggest. Whatever might lie in the past, are these organizations open to any sort of negotiations? Except the flat acceptance of their demands?

So let us go one step further and see what the Future possibilities are, instead of just speaking of the past.

    1. I too, hate the idea of war and I have stated as much, time and time again, apparently all to no avail. But the poems come and I must let them out even if they do no good at all.

Swamiyesudas, the U.S. government has stated that it does not ‘negotiate’ with terrorists even if the so-called ISIS terrorists were willing to negotiate with those that trained them for their own purposes only to have them turn around and refuse to continue to play by their trainers rules.

If the present day is any indication of what the Future possibilities are than we of course continue to live in the past because our Future continues to mimic our past.

Thank you so much for the re-blog! I am humbled! Best wishes to you and yours.

      1. Actually, my Dear Shelby, fighting for the Homeless and such, You and I are on the Same platform. Happy to have met You that way. But.

That kind of a fight is another things. In the case of ISIS, the Indian VHP and co, putin who sends in trucks, which refuse to stop at Ukrainian check posts, Pol Pot, Hitler and the Drug Barons, what exactly do You propose?

You might be a poet, some of Your writings sound like that: ‘continue to live in the past because our Future continues to mimic our past.’ I could not make much sense of that.

Granted that the US had armed and trained some of these. BUT not in their present form. I suppose You would say, let them kill the Kurds, come out of Iraq, no more body bags, let them dash themselves. VERY GOOD LOVE THAT WOULD BE.

Those who start wars for business, for the sale of their weaponry, etc, should be Reamed. But, as I have said it elsewhere, IF A MAD DOG ENTERS MY COMPOUND, I WOULD SHOOT IT, (If I could).

No Quick answers possible. But, at the same time, Dreamland does not work.

        Regards.

  5. I have recently been studying the origins of the neoconservative ideology that is driving this perpetual war on terror. The so-called terrorists are mainly phantom terrorists, created by US and Israeli intelligence and fundamentalist Sunni states like Saudi Arabia and Qatar. The whole idea is to terrify the US population. At the moment the only way politicians derive political power (as they’re totally incompetent at running the government) is by protecting us from this phantom terrorism. And, of course, killing hundreds of thousands of people in the process. How sick is that?

    1. You know Dr. Bramhall, you just continue to make too much sense! You really do! And I for one am sick of it! Why don’t you stop making sense and get with the program that all we Americans want to understand is that life is one big party for us and we don’t do anything wrong? How could we? We are exceptional and never will we let the world forget that, even if it is much to the detriment of said world. What do we care if we are killing people that we have trained simply because we lost control of the situation and could no longer contain that which we had unleashed? We always know what we’re doing and never you doubt that we don’t.

Now, you behave yourself over in NZ and recognize that you must carry the torch of American ‘exeptionalsm’ across the seas and everywhere you go. Just because you no longer live in America, you are still filled with American ‘exceptionalism’ which makes you just as special as the brain dead zombies are. You’re just unappreciative of what America stands for! As is the rest of the world! We just can’t please people of the world and we can’t figure out why!

      I’m just funning with ya!

But yeah, how sick is that? America is REAL sick, but though America is sick, the rest of the world dies for it!

  6. When you dehumanize a people every day it makes it easy to mow them down. And if your propaganda is done really well you can get a whole country behind your mowing down of a people. The danger is that soon that gun will be pointed at you as. But like you said you’ll died a thousand deaths before that bullet reaches you.

This is being played out in the Amerikan streets right now. People supporting murderous cops will soon have those same murderous cops killing them.

    1. HLJ, what you say is So true and don’t you know it! When have the vast majority of Americans ever had one individual thought? Americans are like sheep, easily herded or led because Americans need to be told what to do, what to eat, what to wear, what to know and so forth and so on. We never want to deal with reality and when reality for Americans has never been a completely bombed out country, what lessons will we learn? We learn that we can get away with torture, murder, arming and training the ‘right’ terrorists’ and then put them down the minute they refuse to do our bidding and decide that things are going to change.

What this country needs is the devastation that it has wrought on other countries all around the world. We need to know up front and personal just what it is like to be a country bombed to smithereens but so long as we do not know this, it is quite easy to ‘bomb’ the hell out of other countries because we know that our military is going to ‘get it done’.

…and those that support the murdering of innocent Black bodies by racist cops will soon find themselves facing armored vehicles usually found in Iraq and Afghanistan. The Black and Brown people will not be the only ones to have their ass handed to them. But until it affects others, it will be business as usual.

      Great comment! Thank you much!

  7. ISIS is as war-like as the U.S. But they aren’t threatening our territory. If any nation must defend themselves from ISIS, let it be Iraq, Iran, Turkey, etc. Perhaps if we stayed out of other people’s regional conflicts we’d find ourselves in a lot less wars.

    1. I agree with you wholeheartedly AC! But that is THE problem, we refuse to stay out of other people’s conflicts. We must insert our depraved nose into their affairs and claim that we are protecting American interests, which is coded for capitalism’s expansion.

The truth is ISIS IS the US. ISIS IS US! Trained by US! Provided weapons by US! Unleashed by US!

      Thank you for your comment!

  8. “I saw from the comments that some disagree with your post, but that comes with the territory, I believe .”

Yes, Rajiv, it ‘comes with the territory’. I wrote a poem on my thoughts. I never said that I had all the answers or even some of the answers. I am just a simple person who writes her thoughts down and I share them. I am not a president, nor am I a prime minister or a cabinet official or a member of parliament. I do not go all around the world causing chaos, pandemonium, bedlam and calamities. But somehow, because I posted a poem, I am now to solve ALL the world’s problems, single handedly and that is that.

No, I do not expect everyone to agree with my thoughts but on the other hand, this was listed as a poem with a few words about the poem and where this poem came from. If I’m to be lambasted for that, so be it. But I stand by every word in my poem and by every word in my comments. People are of course, going to agree or disagree, and even though I welcome comments, when they take the form of turning into a long drawn out war with words, well, I’m just not going to go there.

This entire blog clearly states where I stand on numerous issues and I have not hesitated, nor have I hemmed and hawed, I come straight to the point. So, if anyone is unclear, they are free to ‘archive’ to their hearts content.

This particular post of mine has much meaning for me and so that is why not one foul word from me has been typed. Also out of respect for those like you who have re-blogged this, I wish to show my appreciation to you, especially. Yes, I freely admit that I have a ‘garbage mouth’ but I have managed to rein it in this time.

And again, I thank you most kindly for daring to continue to read this here blog of mine.
