Blood Thirsty Bastard!

How could I have ever voted for this shit?
How could I have ever voted for this shit?

I’m a two-faced devil with lots of charm.
Syrian people, I mean you no harm.

I just want to drop a few bombs on you.
With my help, you’ll be good as new.

We’ll only be there for a couple of days.
You’ll not have time to get used to our ways.

We said the same thing when we were in Iraq.
Was that the first time, or the time we went back?

Ask the Afghans what they think of me.
They’ll sing my praises since I set them free.

The Pakistanis can’t thank me enough.
They like drone strikes; they like it rough.

Yemen got struck the other day.
It was no big deal, they’re all okay.

Osama is dead; he’s my claim to fame.
You know, he’s the one we had to frame.

The American people really have no clue.
They voted for me, but got Bush number two.

They thought he liked wars, but what do they know?
I’m Jekyll and Hyde, but with a big ego.

I’m a blood thirsty bastard when I’m on the hunt.
I’ve got nothing to lose so I can be quite blunt.

Dr. King would be proud, I just know he would.
That speech I gave, it was so damn good.

Today, I stand; fulfilling his dream.
Tomorrow, I’ll make those Syrians scream.

  1. No shit. Deja vu ain’t all it’s cracked up to be, is it? They merely found a much slicker salesman for the same old outrages.

Saddest part to me? Just like the Mafia, it’s nothing personal — just business as usual.

What the hell do we keep on fighting for?
We must know by now – there is no just war! – LLF

“War is a racket. It always has been. It is possibly the oldest, easily the most profitable, surely the most vicious. It is the only one international in scope. It is the only one in which the profits are reckoned in dollars and the losses in lives.” –General Smedley D. Butler

That is so true and we have not a leg to stand on because we are a war mongering nation. The MSM are like rabid dogs just slavering to report on the first strike. I am so damn tired of endless war, war, war!!!! Why don’t they just blow the whole planet up and call it a goddamn day because they’re doing it piece by piece. It is quite obvious that we will never be at peace. There is no end to sequestration in sight and yet, we’ve got the money to militarily strike a country that has nothing to do with us. Doesn’t that just make all the goddamn sense in the world???

And according to what I have read, the U.S. would be going it alone because even the British have balked at this one and are demanding that before they intervene, they want to know what the inspectors found when they went over to Syria to asses whether or not, chemical weapons were in fact, used. Russia is gearing up and we have been warned. So, if the U.S. government seriously thinks that we have more to worry about from some Syrian rebels(that we armed), they’d better think twice about that because Russia is not some puny little Middle Eastern country that they can just drone strike every second of every goddamn day. Russia is not terrified of us.
For the love of….!!! Here we go again!!!!!

    Thanks for stopping in Frederick!

  3. Damn Shelby, your pen keeps getting sharper every time I stop by. Your last lines were like a nail in the coffin of the hope and change that the ruling class used to bait us into believing that Obama was the second coming. The switch has been made and we’re left with a snake oil salesman with nothing but time on his hands and the world’s most powerful military at his disposal. How many Muslim countries are left for US to invade?

    1. Thanks Jeff! And can you believe it? They actually had on the main msn screen page today, Obama kicking a soccer ball and hailing how great he was at kicking a damn ball. Unbelievable! We are on the verge of yet another military engagement and yet MSM can only praise Obama over a soccer ball. I just cannot wrap my head around that one.

Even though I have never set much store by polls, every poll that I have seen and participated in has clearly stated that the majority of American citizens are war weary and do NOT want us getting more involved in the Syrian conflict. But it doesn’t matter what we think or what we want. We are just mere peons who are under an illusion that we have a say in ANYTHING by voting. I can’t tell from where I’m sitting. If we continue to drop bombs on people, we are asking for trouble, begging for it. We need to leave other countries the hell alone!! We can’t even get our own house in order and the sad fact is, the government isn’t even trying, but the same lazy ass fools that can’t come together and stop the sequester bullshit, can find the time and togetherness to yell, “more war, more war, bomb them already!!!” We are just stupidly sitting somewhere, waiting…waiting…waiting…..while our fate is being decided for us. I am just beside myself!!!…I am that full of rage!

  4. Reblogged this on shelbycourtland and commented:

I first posted this August of last year and unfortunately, it stands true a year later. What the fuck? And some have the nerve to claim that we are so goddamn smart. Well, if we are, then how come we keep doing the same stupid ass shit year after year and expecting what? Oh, yeah! We’ve got ALL the goddamn answers! Bombing sovereign nations without their consent AGAIN? Poor Iraq just can’t catch a break and the bombing of Syria was just postponed a year. Fucking wow!

    1. ..and that is why HLJ, for the first time since I became eligible to vote, I am not voting. Vote for what? In my opinion, there no longer IS a ‘lesser of two evils’ being the democratic party. Both parties serve the same master. They don’t serve the American people and they never will. What should happen is that the American people have a say-so regarding term limits. That would be a tiny step in the right direction, but that’ll never happen because those goddamn career politicians want to remain, career politicians. Yes, I hesitated before deciding not to vote because of all that Black people had to go through just to obtain the right to vote. However, voting is a waste of time and for those who say that we should try 3rd party options, that’s no solution when most Americans don’t even entertain the thought of a 3rd party option. As far as I’m concerned, we’re just doomed, damned and done!

      Thanks for your comment HLJ!

      1. We most definitely need term limits and pay caps and just plain reform. Also, stop this family oligarchy way of retaining power. It’s just insult to the Amerikan people.

  5. You were as on point then as you are now, Shelby. They’re barely even pretending anymore to give a good reason for all of this bloodshed.

    1. Thanks Jeff! I’m sure you remember this one. As Tube pointed out, I can now just recycle the old as they are just as relevant today as they were a mere year ago. I knew back then that the bombing of Syria was just a matter of time. All the calls we made, all the blogs we posted, all the poems that were written were all for naught. What we say just doesn’t matter and you are right indeed, they don’t even make a pretense of hiding the dirty shit. For one thing, while it’s happening, we know about it and second, with the militarization of the police all across America, they know there’s nothing we can do when facing down MRAPs.

Thank you so much for your comment. …and the drums of war beat on!
