When the parasites have sucked us dry and evil rules the day,

we’ll turn upon each other as the ‘Hunger Games’, we’ll play.

One by one, we’ll be picked off; the lords will slap their thigh.

The ruling class will drool as they watch the peasants die.

We need no drummer’s beat, this is no marching band.

No dress rehearsal needed, the final act is planned.

Before the day is done, will our numbers shrink or gain?

Or will the movement grow just like a spreading stain?

Fear is not our friend, it’s the enemy don’t you see?

They want us to give up, and never to be free.

Some have lost it all, they’re hollow-eyed and gaunt.

Others lie in graves; their spirit’s on the haunt.

Need we all succumb to the lords’ decree for us?

When they throw a hungry victim underneath another bus.

The battle will be long and there is no way to know

if we will be victorious in vanquishing our foe.

There soon will be no option as it all comes to a head.

Either we engage the enemy or we will join the dead.

I am an advocate for the poverty stricken, homeless, hungry, voiceless people who are considered to be the 'unwashed' masses but whom I consider to be the unsung heroes for surviving a never ending battle waged against them in the form of poverty wages, no benefits, living paycheck to paycheck, needing medical coverage while employed, trying to feed their families on stagnant wages that have not kept pace with inflated prices. And so the battle continues.....

I am doing what I can and will continue because what is going down could mean life or death for millions if not over a billion people. Those who pull the strings have decided who will lose and who will win and it ain’t looking good for us! Thank you again for sending this along!! The more who see it, the better!

  3. This caricature that we see as reality today is becoming even more hideous than any fiction such as the” Hunger Games ” . Your writing here describes well the path that we are on. The silence of we the people, it’s deafening !

    1. We are distracted, easily distracted. They know how to point us in the direction they want us to look. They know how to pit us against each other, they have perfected the art. Some choose not to see even when confronted with the fact that something is horribly wrong. I do believe they feel that if they do not acknowledge that there is indeed, something wrong, that it will just simply fade into oblivion. Of course we know that is foolish thinking. This is why it is so hard to wake up the masses. Give them a new Apple product and they’ll pitch a tent for weeks to be the first in line. Those are the people who would blindly follow the government into an internment camp by simply being told that a new ‘must have’ smartphone just came down the pike. Sad, but true!

      1. All of what you have written is worth saying even if few acknowledge this truth. This I think is part of the slight of hand so to speak. You are suppose to believe no one cares.
        That is a lie. Many do care but are silenced by fear. Thank you for your courage! Don’t surrender.

  5. I like what you’ve done here and I agree that we must engage, but I also believe we must do so peacefully and mindfully. I am a fan of the way Ghandi got things done. A peaceful “rebellion” is the only way to stop the violence and corruption of the Taker Culture (have you read any of Daniel Quinn’s work, such as Ishmael?)

    1. Hello Kaycie and thanks for stopping in. While I agree that peaceful is the way to do it, what did the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., and all of the others who peacefully protested, get in return for their peaceful marches? They were sprayed with high powered hoses, had dogs let loose on them and were jailed, for trying to obtain the rights due them as citizens of the United States. And now, we learn that much of what they peacefully protested for has been stripped away with the recent gutting of the Voting Rights Act of 1965 by the Supreme Court. We are going back in time in this country and those whose skin pigmentation is the same as mine are reeling from poverty, racism, disenfranchisement, double digit unemployment, a deplorable public education system and an out-of-the-ballpark incarceration rate, among many other societal ills.
      Gandhi’s teachings are all very well and good, but what we are up against is going to take a whole lot more than nice words. Gandhi said,

      “First they ignore you, then they laugh at you, then they fight you, then you win.”

      We are NOT winning! We are losing and losing big time.
      The powerful will concede nothing and that is being proven every single day by the taking of more from us to the point that when there is no more to take, then what? Peacefully enter a jail cell? Wait to get drone struck at random? Become a detainee without due process? We are being spied on no matter what we do. Apparently, we are already perceived as the enemy, if not, then why the need to spy on every single one of us and collect our data? You don’t think that they are intending to use this information they have on us for our benefit do you? We have people sitting in prison right now because their only crime is that they told the truth and shed light on hypocrisy, torture, war crimes and lies. We have people seeking asylum from persecution for exposing the spies who spied on us and did not want to get caught out. The president of Brazil just rejected a state visit due to having been informed that this government was spying on her communications. We have entered a new era never seen before. No, I am not advocating violence, but on the other hand, if I’m smacked on my right cheek, the hell if I am going to turn the other cheek and get smacked. There is going to be some ‘smacking’ right back. And I’ll leave you with another quote:

    I am reblogging my own post to add that 8.9 million women and children have been thrown underneath that bus that I referenced in this post. The “Hunger Games” have begun!!! With the defunding of WIC(Women, Infants and Children Program), how are poor, working mothers going to feed their children, especially if they work in the retail and fast food industry? And yet, Walmart and the other employers who are considered the epitome of hypocrisy for raking in billions if not over a trillion dollars a year in profits by keeping their workers’ wages so low, that they qualify for government programs which now have been cut off due to the shutdown. The dominoes are starting to fall and when that happens, the ‘domino effect’ will spread.
