When The World Gets A Little Too Close..

private bathroom

When the world gets a little too close,
I shut the door and I just lean back.
There comes a time when I’ve had enough.
And I will quit before my shell begins to crack.

I light a candle and I fill my tub with scent.
And enjoy a flute of some bubbly delight.
I lie back and let it all wash away.
My guard is down and I don’t have to fight.

So many battles are just waiting to be fought.
Sometimes the cares of this world must slip away.
I’ll grab the bull by the horns on my terms.
And when I’m ready, I’ll get back into the fray.

    • HLJ, I’ve found that I am stretching myself too thin. Not eating enough, not resting enough and just got back from the hospital because I have just run myself down and caught the really nasty bug that’s been going around. So, I’ll be taking it easy for the next week or two. I can’t help anyone if I’m all ‘done in’. I feel like somebody just caught my scarf and dragged my head and neck underneath a MACK truck.

So, take care of yourself man! It ain’t hardly no fun being cross-eyed sick!

  1. Now why is it that right now at this point in our world your poem was EXACTLY what I needed?

    A-fucking-MEN! 🙂

    • Wolfess, I am always glad to oblige.

Hopefully, I’ll be on the mend soon and with the ability to “grab that ole bull by the horns and get back into the fray,” but for now, “Pwr 2 the Peons!,” is about all that I can muster.

      Take care and stay well!

      • I am finally starting to feel close to normal again after a month of fighting bronchitis and the gawd-awful meds the doctor gave me to get over it! I seriously HATE getting old — my body won’t let me ignore the symptoms I used to just power thru in my past lives! 😦 Like you said: take care and GET well!

        Pwr 2 my SHELBY peon!
        GUILLOTINE ILLNESS!

  2. Wolfess, you are precious! My voice is all but gone and I cannot stop coughing for the life of me. I am on antibiotics and cough medicine, but as of yet, I am still feeling weak, lackluster, drained, drawn and filthy sick! I hate this! Everyone is telling me about this nasty bug which I didn’t know anything about until I caught it. And now, everyone I ‘whisper'(since I’ve lost my voice)to is telling me about how sick their relative is with the same thing. Oh it SO helps! NOT!

I certainly hope that you are on the mend and I wouldn’t wish what I am feeling on anyone. Uh..wait a minute. I take that back. I wouldn’t mind if our little Bush in Black face on steroids came down with it!

**I think this illness that so many of us are battling is b/c of fracking, or at least that’s my story and I’m stickin’ to it! 🙂

    • HELLLLOOOO!! Uncle Wiggly, my friend!!! It’s been much, much too long! Hope you are well, indeed I do, dear, dear Uncle Wiggly! Oh those long ago days on the vine! As you can see here, I’ve come a long way baby! And how!!

Uncle Wiggly dear, I intend to keep fighting. I’m just getting over a really, really nasty bug and since I am cross-eyed sick, I am unable to get into my usual ‘fight’ mode that I do SO well. But, yesterday was a good sign because since I am still sick and my doctors are full of shit, I had all phones ringing at the same time due to my blasting those blasted doctors for not getting me well soon enough to suit me. You would think that the antiquated methods of doctoring us would have been done away with by now and that we only need walk into a radiation-less chamber, get a 3 dimensional picture of our entire insides and get zapped with the appropriate cure, exit chamber and get on with life. Such is not the case, at least not for the mere peons who drudge painfully to keep the rich afloat.

But Uncle Wiggly, again, it is SO very nice to see you after so long a time has gone by. Please, keep checking in because hopefully, I will be right as rain, soon!

      Hugs,
      Shelby
