Let’s Fucking Celebrate!

Throw a hotdog on the grill for him. It'll end his homelessness.

Throw a hotdog on the grill for him. It’ll end his homelessness.

So, you want to honor the grateful war dead?
But you never put an end to why so many tears are shed.

Stop feeding the warmongers lust for power.
We fight for some shits who sit in an ivory tower.

Why the hell is ‘friendly fire’ such a fucking good thing?
And ‘collateral damage’ has a great sounding ring!

Get that goddamn modified hotdog down.
And wave a ‘made in China’ flag all over town.

What is there really to celebrate?
America’s desperate need to dominate?

Homeless vets walk the goddamn streets.
And here you sit eating Memorial Day treats.

What a goddamn way to memorialize the dead,
by ignoring homeless vets who are fucked up in the head.

You celebrate the rich who are swilling champagne,
while the families of the fallen are living with the pain.

Enjoy this holiday and throw some meat on the grill.
While those who made it home, don’t have a decent meal.

You’re so fucking hypocritical when you celebrate this day.
And tomorrow, a homeless vet, won’t have a place to stay!

Yeah! Let’s fucking celebrate! ‘Cause ain’t a goddamn veteran, homeless, hungry, mentally ill and some more shit! So, let’s fucking celebrate how fucking grateful we are to those who’ve died all over some bullshit and for those who make it back home, we are so fucking fine with their status of being fucked up and homeless. Eat a goddamn hot dog for THEM!! Fire up the grill and then pass some more laws tomorrow to make it more and more difficult for them to be homeless.

America is filled with some stupid ass shits! And I ain’t fucking bragging, I’m just fucking sayin’!!! We are celebrating!!!!

  1. One of the main reasons I love living in New Zealand is they have absolutely no illusions about being a great military empire. The majority of Americans have no idea what immense sacrifices they make (free quality health care and education, paid parental leave, child care, unemployment benefits that cover all the unemployed are the first that spring to mind) to enjoy cheap coffee, sugar, chocolate and hormone and pathogen ridden eggs and meet. Worse still even more still operate under the delusional belief the US of A is a representative democracy.

    • I’ll start from the end of your comment Dr. Bramhall. America has never been a representative democracy. How much representation did the slaves have? How extremely democratic it was to own people who are considered three-fifths human and on the other hand, speak of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. This fucking fucked up country was founded on a shitload of hypocrisy. The ‘founding fathers’ who are praised to the high heavens and quoted religiously were some foul ass nasty slave owning shits. And to this day, that very same beat continues.

Yeah, you have yourself a great old time over in New Zealand while us dumb, ‘patriotic’ shits over here still won’t recognize how fucking bad off we are. You know it’s all good here Dr. Bramhall because our smartphones are telling us so. And the ‘war dead’ well, they’re dancing in their graves after Memorial Day parades and hot dog eating and flag waving commenced on their behalf. Wow! What a really great way to honor the ‘war dead’. But we’re going to add to their numbers and next year, honor some more ‘war dead’. The war drums beat on and the parades will continue. We’ve been programmed, good and proper like. Oh yes, we have!

Thank you once again, Dr. Bramhall for telling it like it is. I can always count on you.

    • U’r right Dr. Bramhall, anything short of fascism is a gross understatement. These corp jackals will sell their own mother out. The fact that most Americans are finding it harder to receive these cheap “benefits” underscores my point. America has been exporting all it’s problems, corruption, etc. via hyperinflated petrodollar that’s permeated the world marketplace. As long as this “system of control” dollar hegemony is intact, no one is truly “free”. We all depend on this bogus fiat imaginary dollar to survive – talkin about “In God we Trust” – what a farce, this whole matrix is a deadly illusion and we’re all apart of it. Globally we all need to disengage from the dollar, Russia and China has the balls to do it!

  2. You really make a great point here. I did something similar last year. It really pisses me off that we use the extended weekend as a grand old kickoff to summer and completely forget what the holiday is all about. We forget the people that suffered and gave their lives and those that are still suffering and will never be the same. War changes people and not for the better. I am fortunate and thankful that my son came back in November from Afghanistan in one piece after being shot at and the target of mortar fire for almost a year. So far he seems to have made it through, but he won’t talk about what happened to him or what he saw. I’m sure mentally it bothers him as he goes through bouts of not being able to sleep. I know the “holiday” has passed, but those that continue to suffer the effects of war are still out there and need our help. Maybe if we put a bit of our holiday beer money into helping these brave vets we would all be better off. Thanks for posting this one it is near and dear to my heart.

    • I am very glad that your son made it back too, Dom. I hope he never need be deployed again. And yes, the way we go about ‘celebrating’ is so entirely wrong and shameful because we just don’t get it. We have so many veterans, both male and female walking the streets, homeless and hungry and yet, what do we do about it? Throw a parade and another hotdog on the grill and meanwhile, their plight worsens. We NEVER do the right thing. We simply do the EASY thing. Like I always say, “I despair of us!”

Thank you for taking the time to comment and again, I am glad that your son made it home. Would that all of them could. It would be even better if they all refused to get shipped out.

      • I agree one hundred percent with you. Thankfully he decided to get out at the end of his enlistment which was 2 months ago so unless they call him back he should be stateside for good. Although he won’t talk about the specifics of anything he did or saw in Afghanistan, I know that he saw combat since he made the comment that it was nice not to be shot at and I know that he forward operating base was attacked daily by mortar fire. Sadly he called me yesterday saying that he needs to talk to the VA about seeing a doctor because he is hallucinating at night and talking to people that aren’t there. When he finally realizes where he is it pisses him off and he can’t sleep. I know he has PTSD and this is one of the many symptoms of it. He is fortunate that he has a family close by that loves him and will help him in any way they can, but there are so many out there, men and women who are alone and need our help. Don’t you think as a nation and a people we should do everything in our power to help them…I know that at least you and I do, but we can’t do it alone. Pulling together as a people I suppose is really just a pipe dream since we never seem to have the intestinal fortitude to step up to the plate and do what needs to be done.for our brothers and sisters. This both saddens and angers me.

  3. Amerikkka and it’s silly horror-days. Oops! I meant holidays. Most wars are fought over control of land and resources. It’s hardly ever about spreading democracy, freedom or justice. Hell we don’t even have those things here!lol But don’t tell the average America sheep that. Americans love living in fantasyland. After the carnage, bloodshed and dead children of war is over— they want to create a holiday for it. That’s after they distort the truth in the history books. That’s why people are so dumb today. They don’t have any real knowledge of history. But I do feel bad for the many young soldiers that die in these wars. Like my grandpa used to say….”Wars are started by old rich men. That send young men to die in them.”

    • Yes, I too feel for the young men who fight the rich man’s war and die for it. But just like somebody stated on another post, “What if they gave a war and nobody came?” Some say that people enlist because there are no jobs to be had and I say to that, I’d flip a goddamn burger day and night before I’d ever pick up a weapon and fight no enemy of mine and I’ve said this before, I have been hungry, broke, fucked up and some more shit, but it never dawned on me to enlist because I will never fight for this sick ass fucked up country because this sick ass fucked up country don’t mean shit to me. I’m not fucking fighting for capitalism and oil. Fuck that shit. If as a woman, I’ve walked to work with the soles of my shoes gone and my feet touching the sidewalk, so can others. If I’ve gone to bed hungry with not even a slice of bread to eat, so can others. If I can go through hard times, so can others. And for those who enlist right off the street, their starting pay ain’t shit. They fucking qualify for food stamps, so where’s the goddamn incentive? I don’t see it. Some enlist because they’ve got the killing fever anyway. Fucking skinheads, serial killers and some more shit is enlisting and having a fucking field day. I ain’t down with that shit. Hell nah!

People need to get a goddamn backbone and stay the hell away from enlistment centers. There ain’t no honor in what they’re fighting for, not a fucking bit of it. And no, I’ll not celebrate Memorial Day and Veteran’s Day because the best way to celebrate those days is to put those goddamn weapons down, step the fuck back and refuse to kill another human being over some bullshit started by some ass nasty shits that couldn’t give a goddamn about the grunts they send into harms way.

And thank you most kindly for your comment.

  4. Dom, that IS a big, huge problem in America, the fact that we don’t look out for one another. We are so fucking fine with the status quo so long as it’s not impacting us, personally. We don’t give a goddamn about what someone else is going through. That shit’s on them. So long as we’ve got ours, to hell with you and your problems. We are some selfish ass shits, we Americans are and don’t I know it.

I truly feel for your son, I do because he most likely thought that he was actually doing his patriotic duty by helping to protect his country from those who would harm it. The problem with that is that each of us is harming this country because the warmongers are hell bent on getting at that oil in oil rich countries for this here oil glut nation. We’ve got to have it and we’d better get it and we don’t care at what price it comes or at what price we pay for it. We will destroy another country just to get our hands on that which we MUST have and if there’s anything else to be got, we’ll take that too. Look at what we’ve done to Iraq. We’ve shoved ‘capitalism’ down their throats regardless of whether they like it or not. If Saddam Hussein was still in power, there would be no Starbucks all up in Iraq and I am quite sure that that’s not the only hint of things to come. Wal-Mart will soon open its doors along with Macys, Kohl’s, Kmart, Taco Bell and so forth and so on. They’ll soon have the Iraqis slaving away in garment factories for pennies and shipping some more cheap shit over here for us to max out credit cards in trying to obtain it. This is what our military is fighting for, the continued rape and pillage of yet another country in order to expand capitalism. We need to stop with this shit already. Unfortunately, that’ll never happen.

Thank you so much for your comment and I hope that your son will get the help that he needs what with the situation at VAs all across this country.
