My Heart Won’t Let Me Vote!

not voting

My heart won’t let me vote.

I reject brutality.

Bombs are not my choice.

I’d vote for peace, universally!

And yes, I throw my vote away,

as I have done so every time.

When I stood and pulled that lever,

I’ve voted to cast my lot with slime.

How many war crimes I’ve committed,

in my name due to a vote.

So much blood has flowed, unchecked,

by all the wars fought by remote.

I have never armed a thug.

Nor did I cause someone to die.

But if I vote just one more time,

then I’ll have to answer for that lie.

    1. Thank you Lou! If only many, many others would listen to their ‘heart’ and not vote. It doesn’t matter one way or the other, I realize that but, from now on, those thugs and war criminals will get not another worthless vote from me to “bombs away and make some warmonger’s day” shit! Hell to the fucking NO!

      …and thanks for the re-blog!

    1. Thank you Peter! And that makes two! Any more? Because ask yourself, “What’s it all for?” You stand in a long line just to vote for some dogs that ain’t worth spit. They tout out useless rhetoric each and every year this time about what the hell they’re gonna do FOR you when what do they do? They vote themselves raises for doing not a goddamn thing and then turn around and cut off jobless benefits for the long term unemployed. They fund the war machine while people are homeless, hungry and sick. They gut needed services while they hoard billions. They keep wars for profit going on in our name and for what? Who benefits from war? Do you? You, who are headed to the polls to vote for what? For what? Yeah! Exactly! Not a goddamn thing that’s decent, humane, honest, and filled with integrity. They don’t even know how to spell those words much less act decent, humane, honest and with integrity.

      Thank you again Peter!

  1. It’s a shame how hard the civil rights and women’s rights movements fought for the right to vote only to end up with the choices of dumb and dumber. It”ll be interesting to see who the Republocrats or Demopublicans trot out next. My worst nightmare is H. Clinton v. J. Bush in 2016.

    1. Yeah, it’s a goddamn shame alright! My ancestors will just have to turn over in their graves but then you never know, because if they knew what the hell was going down these days, they just might nod in agreement. Who the hell knows? But what I do know is that I am no longer going to hold my nose and pretend that I am voting for the lesser of two evils when they’re both running neck in neck. I’ve said that before and I say it again. There ain’t no difference and what’s the point in even attempting to get another party into the picture? It would just be more of the same and until we can at least accomplish term limits, career politicians are what we’re going to have and Mr. Heart and Ms. Love don’t stand a snowball’s chance in hell of getting elected. We’ve voting for criminals and I’m tired of it!!

  2. The “franchise” is an exercise in utter futility. You vote nothing changes. You don’t vote nothing changes. The “system” is rigged against regular people. The War Party remains insular smug unchallenged holding all ‘authority’. Vote with a ballot? Bullshit. It’s time to start voting with bullets.

    1. Well, I’m locked and loaded! When do we start?

…and on another note, people want to talk about ‘voter fraud’ when FRAUD is synonymous with POLITICIAN. Ain’t no greater fraud perpetrated than what politicians engage in with accepting bribes and kickbacks from corporations and working for the ‘corporations are people’, instead of working for the actual PEOPLE who can go to the polls and check the box or pull the lever! Fuck all that shit!

      Thanks for your comment Skulz!

    1. It is insanity! Because by voting, we are doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. Seriously???!! For real???!!!! It’s always the same ole same ole wars for profit shit and ‘pretend’ partisan bickering and that’s just for show because none of it is real because the democrats and the republicans are paid by the same goddamn corporations that own them, lock, stock and barrel. And by going to the polls, we are pretending that we are voting ‘in’ some shit that’s going to represent us! Yeah, right!!! That day will never come and that is why I am so done with voting, stick a goddamn fork in me, I am so fucking done!!!

Thank you for your comment Dr. Bramhall!
