Armageddon

The mirrors all are cracking,
and the smoke is blowing away.
You can see the whole thing clearly.
Another crash, they can’t delay.

Follow the Russian ruble.
Focus your attention on Iraq.
They created another terrorist.
And now Ebola’s coming back.

Don’t look beneath the table.
The gamblers all are dead.
The cracking of their bones,
means they have no betting spread.

This show is over folks.
And as the Ball comes to an end,
the rotund lady sings.
And there’s no money left to lend.

The dancers writhe in agony.
Their frenzied pomp is gone.
And the badly written script,
only elicits another yawn.

The bull is now a bear.
And as I look across the sea,
another bear just shakes his head,
over America’s stupidity.

Say “Farewell” to all you know.
The stars and stripes are torn.
As they launch the killing drones,
Armageddon’s child is born.

I am an advocate for the poverty stricken, homeless, hungry, voiceless people who are considered to be the 'unwashed' masses but whom I consider to be the unsung heroes for surviving a never ending battle waged against them in the form of poverty wages, no benefits, living paycheck to paycheck, needing medical coverage while employed, trying to feed their families on stagnant wages that have not kept pace with inflated prices. And so the battle continues.....

  2. Every time I see an article or blog post about we need to be “more positive”, I want to put my fist through the screen.

    What in the hell is there to be positive about? As these news links show all too well the world has turned into a piece of shit, and this piece of shit government/capitalist-system, and it’s Zionist banking-cartel owners and operators, is totally responsible for it!

    And meanwhile, there are only a few of us who seem to be awake enough to know what’s really happening: your cousin comes to mind. I feel like the boy who cried wolf, except I’m not crying wolf, I’m seeing the wolf coming and devouring everything, and no one, beyond you, Tube and some others, see anything but red-white and blue and I, me and mine.

    Your poem speaks to my mood!

    1. Well Sojourner, not to be ‘positive’ but they’ve managed to finagle the market so that it’s gained over 200 points. I gotta hand it to ’em, they’re hell bent on trying to turn tripe into gold, but the only thing is see, it’s fool’s gold and I ain’t buying it!

      …and yep, they’re still kidding a lot of folks and I’m sure you know that this one speaks to my mood. In fact, I was in bed fast asleep and it woke me up and there was nothing for it, but to hop to penning it and voila, here she is. I do declare, me and a bottle of Courvoisier are going to be joined at my lips tonight! I feel a serious need to ‘dull my senses’ and I can’t think of a better way. So, believe me, I know how you feel! We’re preaching to the choir.

      1. Quite often I awake with my teeth grinding, and I have to go to computer and write. No matter how tired I am, it won’t leave me until I get it down on “paper”.

        I am hanging in. The health issues have taken a turn for the worse, which I know you can relate to. So I think my mood yesterday was due somewhat to that?

    1. I know Dom! I hated posting it, but as in my comment to Sojourner, it woke me up and wanted to come out. I wish I could get some, as I always say, “sunbeams, flowers and all things nice and bright and beautiful to come to the surface, but alas, ’tis not meant to be.
