Germany in Namibia: the First Genocide of the 20th Century

I bet you’ve never heard of THIS holocaust! I wonder why! Like hell I do!

How many think that the first big genocide of the 20th century happened during world war II, and was the holocaust? If you thought so, then think again. The Holocaust was not Germany’s first genocide. The very first genocide of the 20th century occurred in Namibia, on the African continent. It was perpetrated by Germans on the Herero and Nama people of Namibia. It was extremely brutal and almost wiped out all Herero people. It was a campaign of racial extermination and collective punishment that the German Empire undertook in German South-West Africa (modern-day Namibia) against the Herero and Nama people. It took place between 1904 and 1907 during the Herero Wars. Today it is known as the Namibian genocide or the Herero and Namaqua genocide. For the longest time, the German government denied it until 2004 when they…

    1. Dr. Bramhall, so was I and I think that this is the point. We are not to know about THAT horrific genocide! And since the skin color of those who were victims of this genocide are dark, well there ya go. Nothing to see here, folks! Move it along! We, here in AmeriKKKa are clueless as to what depravities have been unleashed throughout this world and you can best believe that AmeriKKKa had a hand in most of it. If not, why did AmeriKKKa bring those Nazi bastards over here? For continued experimentation and genocide, that’s why. We all have heard about the Tuskegee Syphilis Experiment. That wasn’t the first and it won’t be the last!

Whenever I see vile horrors of this nature, I shall post them!

Thank you for your comment Dr. Bramhall!

      1. All so-called “civilized wolrd” – i.e. Western Europe was and still is in thess bloody baths and robbery!
Learn about that chicken shit on the map called Belgium – what they did in Africa will put Gemany in Namibia “into shame’.
Or always “innocent” France… fuck even what did Charles de Gaulle in Algeria almost yesterday – in 1950-1970. Let alone previous french achievements in Africa.

  1. Tsk tsk tsk…
the only genocide that matters is hitler’s genocide of jews. native first nation american peoples genocided by whitey don’t count. african slaves genocided by whitey don’t count. by the by, slavery isn’t genocide. armenian azerbaijanis genocided by ottoman erdogans isn’t genocide.
jews genocided by nazis and donald trumpf are the real and kosher victims of genocide. any and all others are simplistic poseurs.
hyperbole and histrionic exaggeration will lead the blind unto the light.

    1. “the only genocide that matters is hitler’s genocide of jews”

You know it Skulz! Those others don’t count! Never have and never will! And yet what the jews are doing to the Palestinian people has not, nor will ever be perceived as a genocide because only jews have been the ‘victims’ of the holocaust. Everyone else just had a bad day. For the love of ……!!!!!!

I thank you for your comment Skulz. It was spot on!

    2. Oh yeah… almost 3 mln of jews during holocaust (however exist data that real numbers are hardly 1,5 mln) – is genocide.

The same time 27 000 000 of russians, from which 15-18 mln were civil victims (incl. children and women) i.e. 6-9 times more exterminated ppl than in jewish case – is definitelly not a genocide. 😉

All is just fine. Hurray to Jewish…sorry – Human rights, Freedom, Transparency, World Justice and ofcource DemoNcRATcy!

  2. Yes, I knew about it. This was very sad. They and several other countries are trying to solve these events with the European countries.

    1. Is there anything you don’t know, N.S.? I hope that you are a teacher because many of us ignorant folk could benefit from your knowledge and I am including me in that.

Thank you for your comment N.S.

    1. Exactly Kelley and that is why they’re writing in that “Happy Slave Bakes Birthday Cake For President” and that “African SLAVES IMMIGRATED to AmeriKKKa whereupon once they got here, begged this shithole to treat them to a big ole case of whippings, lashed backs, shackles, rape, sodomy, pedophilia; the whole nine yards. They just make shit up to cover up the vile shit they do! For the love of …….!!!!

I thank you for your comment!

  3. I stumbled upon your post after finding the original article from Dr. Y. Thank you for reposting this. Dr. Y. have talked about the different things that followed up with the Namibian genocide like how Germany STILL hasn’t paid reparations. Sure, they returned the decapitated skulls, and Hendrik Witbooi’s bible and whip, but they haven’t cut a check.

Much like you, I didn’t hear about this in school. I saw the BBC documentary and my eyes were opened wide to this issue as sickened me. There were people who committed the Namibian Genocide who would be indirectly or directly involved in the Holocaust. One of the soldiers in the 2nd Reich General von Epp would eventually have an employee in the ranks named Adolf Hitler. Not only that, but Hitler himsefl said that von Epp helped inspire him to become a leader, so what should that tell you.

I know some other bloggers noticed this when I’ve talked about the Namibian Genocide, but this bears repeating. Researching Shark Island (one of the big concentration camps in Namibia) and seeing it in the documentary with this valley of bones as the Herero and Namaqua were annexed and starved, it was hard watching that and not thinking if Disney was inspired by that genocide when they made the Elephant Graveyard in The Lion King. Besides plagiarizing the 60s Japanese animated series Kimba the White Lion and trademarking “Hakuna Matata” for a BS reason, I can only think that Disney wanted the hyenas to be proxies for Black people who deserved to be punished at all costs and don’t deserve to be in that so-called circle of life. Seriously, there is so much racist subtext in the House of Mouse and it shouldn’t be that easy to connect that punishment with one aspect of the Namibian Genocide although this could also apply to what happened in the Congo under Leopold’s rule, too (and that genocidal maniac killed 10 MILLION Congolese and got away with it!).
