Folks, I am back! And as soon as I come down off this Baltimore high, I will get back to the business of kicking ass and taking no prisoners. I know that I have missed out on much; police killing more unarmed Black people, election mess and what all else I don’t know. But I shall get around to catching up on your blogs because I have only just got connected today. Items were misplaced and or broken during the move and I was just too busy to even be able to see straight, but give me a few days and I’ll be up to the challenge of…well…more nitty gritty reality.
I hope you enjoy seeing Baltimore as I do! And I hope that you can tell that I love her! I am HOME, like I’ve never been home before!
I am an advocate for the poverty stricken, homeless, hungry, voiceless people who are considered to be the 'unwashed' masses but whom I consider to be the unsung heroes for surviving a never ending battle waged against them in the form of poverty wages, no benefits, living paycheck to paycheck, needing medical coverage while employed, trying to feed their families on stagnant wages that have not kept pace with inflated prices.
And so the battle continues.....

Thanks for sharing Shelby. I didn’t know what Baltimore was like but now I have a better picture of things. It reminds me a lot of the St Lawrence Market and water front of Toronto, which is on the north shore of Lake Ontario.

I don’t know how I missed your comment Leslie. WordPress must be fucking up again. Hope it’s not permanent. Leslie, it is truly beautiful here. Even though, there is lots that’s mucked up, there is much beauty as well. But after I have tasted and enjoyed being the newbie to Baltimore, I intend to get down to the business of doing whatever I can to help. It is the least I can do for a city that has welcomed me so warmly.
I know I am late in responding to your comment but please know that it is extremely appreciated by me. Thanks Leslie!
Isn’t it though, Kelley? And yet, these pictures don’t even begin to do Baltimore, justice. I cannot express how I feel just being here. Words simply fail me!
Kelley, thank you for that wonderful compliment on my pictures. I sincerely appreciate it! Good to see you!
Toritto, I first came to Baltimore in the mid 90s and the Inner Harbor was already built up. I never saw it when it was warehouses. I cannot even imagine it looking any other way than it does now. I used to leave work damn near every day and head to the Inner Harbor, sit in Uno’s and have a drink or head to the Cheesecake Factory and have a drink. Then I’d head to Lexington Market and hook up with some friends and co-workers and head to the Lighthouse Bar and sing and dance the night away. I remember one night getting home at 5am only to be up again at 7 to be at work at 8:30am. Those were the days!
Thank you Peter! I must apologize to you for posting the pictures that depict the eating of animals and I must admit that even I was salivating over all the food that’s available. Everywhere you turn, there is meat, meat and meat. However, there were a few of us at the veggies stand, but who wants to see me chow down on some apples, pears and potassium-filled bananas? BTW, I hate bananas.
But I hope that you enjoyed the other pictures. And again, I thank you for your comment. As I type this, I am stuffing my face with delicious sweet yams, collard greens and corn-on-the-cob. Yummmmm! The good thing about eating this much is that I walk it all off thanks to all there is to do! I declare this is like being on vacation and I know I am repeating myself, but I just cannot believe that I am here sometimes. I often ask to be pinched to make sure that I am here! LOL!
