Happy Chinese New Year! And to celebrate, we have some coronavirus. No, not Corona beer, coronavirus; a deadly virus that has already sickened and killed multiple people, worldwide.
What Is The Coronavirus Illness Blamed For Multiple Deaths In China?
Officials in China are racing to contain a deadly new strain of virus that has infected more than 1,000 people and left more than three dozen dead. Chinese officials have blocked all transportation in and out of the city of Wuhan, where the outbreak of the “2019 novel coronavirus” or “2019-nCoV” originated. At least 12 nearby cities were facing similar lockdowns on Friday, the day before China’s Lunar New Year is celebrated.
As of Friday, two cases have been confirmed in the United States. U.S. health officials confirmed the first case on Tuesday, involving a man in his 30s who had recently traveled from Wuhan, China, to Seattle. The second case was confirmed Friday in a woman in her 60s in Chicago, who had also recently traveled from Wuhan. Health officials said she was “doing well.”
The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said Friday that more than 60 people in 22 states are being monitored for possible infection.
Also Starbucks shut shops and suspended delivery in China’s Hubei province for the week-long Lunar New Year holiday. Uh oh! Someone had better find a ‘cure’ for this coronavirus before it puts a damper on CAPITALISM. Starbucks is losing money by not being able to sell coffee. This is monstrous! Not to mention that the stock market has been having fits since news of the coronavirus emerged. To hell with the death toll and the potential for the death toll to rise from the coronavirus, CAPITALISM must continue grinding at all cost for how else are billionaires to remain billionaires and fake ass Wall Street continue to trade fake money while the rest of us live hand to mouth?
And how many more cases will be confirmed since this virus seems to have an incubation period? How many people are infected and will soon find themselves, quarantined because they were on a flight with someone who was infected with the coronavirus? And why has this virus suddenly occurred right at the start of the Chinese New Year when millions would be traveling? So many questions, but are there any answers that are believable?
Here we are still in the first month of 2020 and already Trump has almost started a war with Iran, two bounties have been placed on Trump’s head, Trump has announced that he is cutting Social Security and Medicare, a commercial plane was struck by a missile, killing all onboard, a convoluted impeachment circus is ongoing and now we have the coronavirus. SIGH! Something told me that this would be the year of our discontent and the year hasn’t even gotten off to a good start. And let us not forget the Australian bush fires that have killed about a billion animals and three American firefighters who were sent to Australia to help put out the bush fires.
Meanwhile, I am perusing the latest Chinese menu to get shoved in my mailbox. Let me see. Should I order the Peking Duck or the steamed dumplings stuffed with pork, shrimp tempura, dragon and phoenix soup, beef mongolian style or the combination seafood volcano mixed with a heaping helping of newly arrived coronavirus straight from ground zero; Wuhan, China.
It has been stated that an open air meat market in Wuhan, China that sold seafood and live animals is the culprit of the coronavirus outbreak. Wuhan is the capital of the Hubei province with a population of over eleven million people and from what I gather, one can purchase bats to eat as well as snake, dog and just about anything that moves and literally, your purchase is still moving when you get it to go. So I guess it is no wonder that SARS and now the coronavirus comes to us fresh out of China. And of course the SARS article states that SARS wiped $40 billion off world markets and so what will coronavirus do? As I stated previously, ever the concern for the rich losing a dime, but the poor getting sick? Who cares? Certainly not our lunatic president since he is actually proposing cuts to those who are already disabled. One thing I do know about billionaires, they didn’t become billionaires, even fake billionaires like Trump, by being empathetic and full of good will and concern for their ‘fellow’ man hence why the focus will be on how to contain the coronavirus for the good of world markets. As for containing this virus for the good of the common people? If we get sick, hey! That’s one less poor schmuck that needs a support system and so dig the hole already.
Folks, whether or not you believe that this latest virus to come down the pike will amount to much or not, know this, if you don’t care about those who are going to be impacted by this virus, the next one to come down the pike may be the one to take you out and with leaders like Trump, his policies WILL get around to affecting you in a most negative and lasting manner. Rich white men will never give a damn for those who are not of their circle and they show you this every single day in every single way including taking away funding from those who are already too sick to work and who most likely already have a weakened immune system that would cave if overwhelmed with the coronavirus. “But, who cares, right?”
And for those of you who plan on traveling to the Superbowl, be sure to wear your masks and I wouldn’t order any Chinese takeout if I were you, it may have more in it then what you ordered. One sneeze on your Chinese carryout container, and to the hospital you go!
“Coronavirus, order up!”
Pointing out the mystery and potential affect on capitalism with this virus needed to be stated. Thanks, Shelby.

Thanks Kreb. So many people are in an uproar about this. I don’t know why. As everyone knows, with folks flying back and forth and all over the place, it was bound to happen. If poor American descendants of slaves can just sit over here and deal with typhus and hookworm, then they can certainly be joined by people with the coronavirus. I have told these whites that they have no idea what is in store for them. 2020 is going to be THEIR year and I don’t mean that in a ‘good’ way! And the only thing about being here in Hillbilly Hollow is that we have to board crop dusters to get in and out of here and who in the hell is coming to this burg in one of those things? Only an idiot would and since there’s nothing to do here or see here, we’re not exactly on any travel brochures or ‘bucket list’ destinations.
Again, thank you for your comment and take care!

Shelby, I know you have communicated that you are good to go when it comes to your safety where you live, but I still can’t help but think about your safety every time you speak of the place where you live. Sorry.

I sincerely thank you for your concern Kreb. I am working on getting us out of here, believe me. I am not content to sit down here and even a pandemic could not keep me from leaving when I feel that the time is right. I am most definitely not trying to continue to remain in this hillbilly, racist hellhole. And again, I thank you for your concern and believe me, it is justified; no lie!

Thanks for the information about that virus. That’s certainly a big sack of no and I certainly won’t be visiting that country or trying the authentic food like snakes. I remember seeing an episode of Globe Trekkers a long time ago where they bake a snake in front of the host and she ate it. I just shook my head.

Ospreyshire, I just don’t understand the hoopla about Chinese food. I have seen people sitting down to eat that mess and I’m like, “That don’t look like chicken or beef.” And yet, it’s all the rage! And what’s more, some of that mess that they eat over there gets past customs because customs cannot check every single ship that docks at the many ports here. No telling what’s really in that Chinese ‘takeout’ container. I read a comment a little while ago and someone was saying, “Chinese people will eat anything with four legs besides a table.” And someone else said, “And a chair.” True!
Thanks for your comment Ospreyshire.

That’s understandable. There is certainly an argument about several Chinese dishes not being “real” Chinese food which I won’t argue with like how fortune cookies are an American invention for example. I’ve actually had similar thoughts when I was at those restaurants or when it was delivered to me and others like at work or school while I would enjoy the meatless dishes. Seriously, you can find at least one restaurant of that kind in almost any town even in some rural areas. That doesn’t surprising with the ships because you never know what slips through the cracks. Is it bad that I laughed a little reading that quote especially after seeing footage in China of people cooking snakes or other random animals that even Americans wouldn’t dare consume?
You’re welcome, Shelby.
