Since It Is Black History Month, Why Are Black Students Being Forced To Celebrate Hispanic Heritage?

I am so very glad that I have NO children in school these days because I would have been arrested so many damn times, it ain’t even funny.

She sat out the anthem in protest . Her teacher said, ‘Go back to your country’, students say.

The students were assembled in the auditorium of their high school on Chicago’s North Side, there to celebrate Hispanic heritage — but first, their teachers told them, they had to stand for the national anthem.

A group of students, who thought the request unusual, decided to remain seated. It was a silent but recognizable condemnation of racial injustice.

When one student — a Latina and U.S. citizen — refused a teacher’s pointed direction to stand, she said he replied with an infamously racist line: “Go back to your country.” The same teacher turned to a black student, who was also sitting down, and asked whether she was part of the public school system’s free and reduced lunch program, telling her she should stand for the people who have died for the country, the students said.

They were then told to leave the assembly.

Again, why were the Black students forced to attend a Hispanic heritage event in the first place when they should have been attending a Black History Month event? And why was the focus, during Black History Month, not on what the little Black child was told by the teacher, but the focus is on what was told to the Latina child? I am so damn tired of the plight of American descendants of slaves overlooked even during the month that has been set aside by the whites to ostensibly celebrate any gains made by Black people in this shithole. Our celebrations are relegated to the shadows when some other group has supposedly been slighted.

The little Black girl who sat out a racist national anthem was not the focal point of this article, the focus was on the Latina child who was told to “Go back to your country!” Black people are not telling those Latinos to go back anywhere. Whites are doing that shit and Latinos have whites to thank for why they are sitting somewhere in migrant camps on the southern border, but that’s not the problem we American descendants of slaves should be concerned about. We have multiple problems and many of them are visited on us by the whites’ greed when they hire Latinos, Latinas, Hispanics or whatever they want to be called over us because they get to pay them a mere pittance since whites very well know that there are more than likely multiple illegals attached to the one legal Latino sitting their ass over here.

American descendants of slaves are shown time and time again that we don’t matter for shit because I cannot believe that this is actually ‘Black History Month’ since there has not been hide nor hair of ANY major coverage from ANY mainstream news media about ‘Black History Month’. And this story proves my point. Why focus on what was said to a Latina while ignoring what was said to a little Black girl, who is a descendant of slaves during Black History Month?

The same teacher turned to a black student, who was also sitting down, and asked whether she was part of the public school system’s free and reduced lunch program, telling her she should stand for the people who have died for the country.

Yeah! Read that again! This little Black girl was stereotyped because all whites believe that Black students make up the majority when it comes to being poor enough to qualify for free or reduced lunch programs and even if that were true, are you skanks wondering why? Seriously?

You whites make damn sure that the Black parents of little Black girls and Black boys all across this shithole are sitting behind bars on bullshit charges. You make damn sure that we are the last hired and the first to be fired. You made damn sure that jobs that used to afford a decent living to Black families were shipped overseas. You infiltrated our organizations and incarcerated, murdered or sent our Black revolutionaries into exile because they were trying to fight back against your rabid and insane hatred of us. You burned our towns. You destroyed our Black Wall Street and you bombed our asses as well. And yet, you expect us to stand and listen to some piece of shit national anthem penned by the likes of you who got his ass kicked by some slave soldiers? Yeah! You go back and read how Francis Scott Key got his ass handed to him by some Black soldiers and he didn’t hardly appreciate that shit and so penned this stanza when he put together YOUR national anthem, not mine.

No refuge could save the hireling and slave
From the terror of flight or the gloom of the grave,
And the star-spangled banner in triumph doth wave
O’er the land of the free and the home of the brave.

And so what does the above mean? It meant that slaves joined up with the British to fight against their tormentors; their ‘owners’.

The orders given to the Royal Navy’s Admiral Sir George Cockburn read:

“Let the landings you make be more for the protection of the desertion of the Black Population than with a view to any other advantage. … The great point to be attained is the cordial Support of the Black population. With them properly armed & backed with 20,000 British Troops, Mr. Madison will be hurled from his throne.

Whole families found their way to the ships of the British, who accepted everyone and pledged no one would be given back to their “owners.” Adult men were trained to create a regiment called the Colonial Marines, who participated in many of the most important battles, including the August 1814 raid on Washington.

So when Francis Scott Key penned “No refuge could save the hireling and slave / From the terror of flight or the gloom of the grave,” he was taking great satisfaction in the death of slaves who’d freed themselves. His perspective may have been affected by the fact he owned several slaves himself.

After the U.S. and the British signed a peace treaty at the end of 1814, the U.S. government demanded the return of American “property,” which by that point numbered about 6,000 people. The British refused. Most of the 6,000 eventually settled in Canada, with some going to Trinidad, where their descendants are still known as “Merikins.”

Francis Scott Key got his ass kicked by a regiment of Black slave Colonial Marines and he didn’t hardly appreciate that fact and so penned that vile shit and called it, “The Star Spangled Banner” and yet many Black singers have bellowed that vile shit out and they had to have known about this verse as well even if they did not take the time to read up on the history of that disgusting piece of shit song. The British refused to turn over what the U.S. government deemed its ‘PROPERTY’! And what the fuck has changed? Not a goddamn thing because descendants of slaves are property. Blacks like Gladys Knight, Beyoncé, Jennifer Hudson, Diana Ross and yes, even dead ones, Natalie Cole, Luther Vandross, Whitney Houston and Aretha Franklin just to name a few have all sung a song that stands for a nation steeped in the blood of Indians and slaves dragged from Africa. A nation that proudly, to this day, confirms that it still stands for slavery and genocide seeing as how there over 2 million descendants of slaves incarcerated which is more than were original African slaves and the Indians are still segregated on reservations experiencing hunger, illness and abject poverty while the descendants of those who put them there are still waging war on the descendants of slaves and the Indigenous population.

And yet a little Black girl is told that since she most likely receives a “free or reduced lunch” that she should be “standing for people who died for this country.” Newsfuckingflash, her people did die for this country! Her people did fight and die for a country that hated them even as they fought for a country filled with the most deranged, depraved, blood thirsty, bigoted, racist filth to ever slither and crawl all across this shithole. That little Black girl had every right to sit or stand as she saw fit because the blood of her ancestors was left on every goddamn battlefield all across this shithole and the world despite the intense racism, bigotry, prejudice, Jim Crow, hatred and intolerance they had to endure in this hellhole that their ancestors had been dragged to. So shut the fuck up because she had every right to sit that vile shit out! The spilled blood of her ancestors on numerous battlefields gave her that right. She’s not sitting shit out because your pasty asses died for her. She’s sitting that shit out because those who looked like her died for her, you insane rabid, hate filled, pasty assed beasts!

And don’t start that shit up about how Donald Trump has emboldened this type of behavior in institutions all across this shithole. Are you serious? This shit has already been going down and anyone with their head not stuck up their ass would have seen this. Not one American descendant of slaves is shocked and appalled because this is the first time we are seeing this rabid, racist ‘in our face’ shit! Where the hell have you whites been? You mean, you haven’t been noticing just what the hell you’ve been visiting on our asses since our ancestors were first dragged here? Don’t start that shit! You know damn well that Trump did not instigate this shit. Did police murdering innocent Black men, women and children occur just as Trump descended to the presidency? Did the mass incarceration of American descendants of slaves occur just as Trump descended to the presidency? Likewise the so-called ‘War on Drugs’? The school-to-prison pipeline? Massive income inequality of American descendants of slaves? Mass homelessness of American descendants of slaves? A massive decline in wealth of American descendants of slaves? Mass foreclosure of homes of American descendants of slaves? Did ALL of this shit occur when Donald Trump stepped foot inside the Oval Office? Hell fucking no! And you goddamn well know this. So don’t sit on your pasty ass and exclaim that this shit just occurred when Donald Trump sat his debased, racist ass inside the White House. You whites have ALWAYS been what you are; a bunch of damn Donald Trumps. Don’t fucking act like you’re not Trump! You ALL are for if not, the shit wouldn’t have been going down for centuries, but it has and it still is and what’s more, nothing is going to change and you damn well know this!

That shit is why we are ‘celebrating’ Black History Month? If so, get the fuck outta here with that bullshit!

Time To Celebrate Black History Month AGAIN! Yeah, We Got It Going On!

Black History Holds NO Fame!

Dragged from your native land,
on a floating barge of death.
You built paradise for a thief
who then plundered all the wealth.

Your name was not your own.
You would never again be free.
To know such hate from them,
as they hung you from a tree.

They say that slavery’s over.
Go forth and earn your keep.
And though you labor long,
you’re valued much too cheap.

You were denied so many rights.
And the vote was not for you.
Though many marched and died,
the court bid that adieu.*

Some think you’ve made great strides
in the face of all that’s wrong.
Yet they herd you into prison,
because they hate that you are strong.

Be wary of their smiles,
for they mean you so much harm.
If you’ve a talent, they’ll exploit it.
All over you, they’ll swarm.

They’ll use you and they’ll kill you.
You’re nothing but a thing,
and when your candle’s burned
you’ll feel ole Massa’s sting.

Don’t ever let your guard down,
and it doesn’t pay to trust.
Shield from them your weakness.
Always show them your disgust.

Black history holds no fame.
And it certainly gets no cheer.
Times have never changed.
They still look at you and sneer.

*June 25th 2013, the U.S. Supreme Court overturned a key provision of the Voting Rights Act, removing a critical tool to combat racial discrimination in voting.

Where shall we begin? Let us celebrate the 11% unemployment rate for Black men even though the national unemployment aka jobless rate stands at 3.7% and if your head’s not stuck up your ass, then you know that even that is a damn lie! Break out the champagne Black folks for those of you who can afford a bottle of say, Andre Cold Duck! Clink those plastic cups together and then piss in the wind because it’s all blowing back your way anyway; the shit that keeps hitting the fan, that is.

Next on our celebration list is the shit that is going down in our public education system better known as the ‘school-to-prison pipeline’ if you’re a student of color in these here United States of America where we celebrate Black History Month each and every February. This month is dedicated to showcasing the achievements of Black people in America. We are celebrating each and every single achievement that has not yet occurred but will eventually occur and we are real sure of this happening any day now.

To continue the celebrations, let us look at the child poverty statistics that are sure to impress us during these celebrations of future achievements that we are hell bent on celebrating this month. We are celebrating the fact that ‘child poverty in America is at its highest point in 20 years, putting millions of children at increased risk of injuries, infant mortality, and premature death’. And if that isn’t bad enough, ‘7 million kids still don’t have health insurance’. This is just so worth celebrating, what an achievement! What a dream as opposed to a nightmare. I wonder what that famous man who had a dream, would think of this. I seriously wonder.

But wait! There is more to celebrate this Black History Month! The good news just keeps on coming. ‘Incarceration rate for African-Americans now six times the national average’ is still making headlines among Black prisoners and their mostly white guards and the white slave patrol that arrested them for say, selling loose, un-taxed cigarettes, selling marijuana or crack while completely ignoring the white man that was buying said crack and marijuana from the guilty by birth African-American other wise known as Colored otherwise known as Black otherwise known as felon or prisoner no.1,000,034. White folks, why don’t you just lock up every single Black person at birth? It’ll save you the trouble of doing so later on since many of us will know what it feels like to be shackled just as those we are descended from knew what it felt like. And the beat goes on and we celebrate it.

And ‘here’s the Data That Shows Cops Kill Black People at a Higher Rate Than White People’, now ain’t that a bitch?! Unfortunately, Michael Brown is not here to celebrate this Black History Month with us because he was shot and killed by a cop. Twelve year old Tamir Rice is also not here this year to help us celebrate because he was shot and killed by a cop while playing with a toy gun in a park. John Crawford, likewise, is not here to celebrate because he was shot and killed by a cop in Wal-Mart while holding a toy gun.  Eric Garner, unfortunately, for him, was selling loose, untaxed cigarettes and that cost him his life and so he will not be joining in the celebrations. Terrance Franklin was shot and killed by cops following a traffic stop and he will not be celebrating ether. Seven year-old Aiyana Stanley-Jones was shot  and killed by a cop while she slept and the charge of manslaughter against the cop that shot and killed her was dropped and so, she is not just ‘under-the-weather’, she is underground and therefore, is not able to celebrate this historic month. Let us celebrate on her behalf. Sandra Bland is not here to celebrate with us because she was hanged in a Texas jail cell. So many are not here to witness all of the achievements that we celebrate today that have not as yet occurred. But we are sure that any minute now, we shall achieve….something. Yeah! Wait on it.

Fortunately, I have found yet another statistic that gives us even more of a reason to celebrate Black history month. Black families are seven times more likely to be homeless. We have come so far this February in the year of our Lord 2020, have we not? Blacks make up half of the U.S. homeless population. Doesn’t that just give you a warm and comfortable, cozy feeling that those homeless people lack? These are achievements that we have here folks! Time to celebrate and to keep the momentum going. Our ancestors would be so proud of where we are today. Don’t you think? Does this not make you aware that BLACK LIVES DO NOT MATTER?!

Now, on the other hand, Tyler Perry will dress up in drag and put some Black folks to work on another Madea movie and Beyoncé will croon about a Halo for Jay-Z and Jay-Z will rap about niggas while DMX will head back to prison for drug possession, get out on probation again and then go right back in for drug possession. Viola Davis will have no problem getting cast as yet another maid after her role in ‘The Help’ and Forest Whitaker is probably all set to play yet another version of someone’s Butler since every one is well aware that us Black folks are so good at bowing and scraping and being subservient to our ‘betters’.

Finally, I’ve given you many reasons to celebrate this month. The reasons are endless and our achievements that we will watch for some time in the future are making life much better for so many of us and that is why we must enjoy this Black History Month. We have no need to march and protest like those Black people in the 1960s did. We are so past that in this here post-racial America. I mean, what we have here is a post-racial America, is it not? But nevertheless, Dr. King would be so proud as would his stalwart, fellow marchers-in-arms at the progress that we have made since his infamous, I Have A Dream speech. We shall overcome! Uh…what I meant to say is that, “We did overcome!” Now like the good little sheep you are, start celebrating all of this shit!! And look ahead to when the REAL achievements will come because surely they must come!

Other Prominent White Supremacists Are Calling For The Resignation Of Virginia Governor Ralph Northam Over A Photo That Depicted What He Really Is, Just Another Coward In A Sheet And Hood And A Fan Of Black Shoe Polish On His Face

Hillary “Lock ALL Blacks Up!” Clinton is all but foaming at the mouth while calling for the resignation of Virginia’s governor, Ralph Northam over a photo recently come to light on his medical school yearbook page. This coming from a woman who claimed that Black youth were ALL SUPER PREDATORS WHO NEEDED TO BE BROUGHT TO HEEL! Seriously?!! Hillary Clinton really wants to feign outrage over Ralph Northam’s KKK outfit and Black face photo op?

“We also have to initiate an organized effort against descendants of slaves…. They are not just ex-slaves anymore. They are often the kinds of fierce Black motherfuckers that are called super predators. No conscience, no empathy. We can talk about why they ended up that way, but first we have to bring them to heel, and the president has asked the FBI to launch a very concerted effort against descendants of slaves, everywhere.” – Hillary Clinton

Hillary and Bill Clinton’s ‘concerted efforts’ consisted of locking up as many descendants of slaves as they could and so is it any wonder that there are over 2.5 million descendants of slaves locked behind prison walls? No indeed not. I get so goddamn sick and tired of stomp down flaming racists pretending to feign outrage over what some other stomp down flaming racist does. What is the point in protesting the likes of your worthless racist ass? Descendants of slaves are well aware that none of you racists are any different from the next because if you were, we would not be in the situation we are in as it pertains to low economic and educational achievements, a school-to-prison pipeline, mass homelessness, gentrification, guns and drugs distributed in our few remaining neighborhoods teeming with prostitution and drug addiction and the list of the like is endless. So Virginia governor Northam decked out in a KKK outfit or in ‘Black face’ is not news to me. I only wish it were.

Northam’s hour-long news conference about a racist photo showing one person dressed in blackface and another in the Ku Klux Klan’s signature white hood and robes in his medical school yearbook page was an inflection point in the saga that now drags into its third day. The bizarre press conference at the governor’s mansion featured denials that he ever dressed up in a KKK robe and hood, pledges that he was never drunk enough to forget a situation like that and a revelation that Northam once did darken his face to resemble Michael Jackson during a dance contest in 1984.

“I believe now and then that I am not either of the people in this photo,” Northam said. “This was not me in that picture. That was not Ralph Northam.”

But the press conference raised more questions than it answered, including how Northam could admit he was in the photo on Friday before taking it all back on Saturday. And why he thought it would help to admit he had once dressed up in blackface as a way to resolve questions about the yearbook photo that features someone in blackface.

On Friday, the governor admitted that he was in the photo, but neglected to state if he was the one in the KKK outfit or if he was sporting ‘Black face’ after having just graduated from medical school, swore an oath to “Do no harm,” and then proceeded to hang his “The doctor is in” shingle up and make sick Black folks, well? And of course we are to believe that Ralph Northam is the only white piece of shit that has done this. He is an anomaly and not the norm? Is this what we are to believe by all the racists calling for Northam’s resignation as if his actions were an absolute and complete surprise to ALL the other racists who have done exactly what Northam has done, only their photos have yet to surface or have been destroyed so as not to share the limelight with Northam?

Gov. Ralph Northam admits he was in 1984 yearbook photo showing figures in blackface, KKK hood

RICHMOND —Virginia Gov. Ralph Northam (D) on Friday acknowledged appearing in a “clearly racist and offensive” photograph in his 1984 medical school yearbook that shows a man in blackface and another in a Ku Klux Klan robe.
“I am deeply sorry for the decision I made to appear as I did in this photo and for the hurt that decision caused then and now,” he said. “This behavior is not in keeping with who I am today and the values I have fought for throughout my career in the military, in medicine, and in public service. But I want to be clear, I understand how this decision shakes Virginians’ faith in that commitment.”

But now governor Northam is suffering from amnesia since one day he admits that he is in the racist photo and the next day he “believes now and then that he is not either of the people in the photo.” It is quite obvious that governor Northam is not well-versed in doing damage control or either his handlers have intentionally threw him under the bus for how can he effectively govern a state when he appears to be suffering from a mental defect? Donald Trump is too but no one has called for his resignation and so it would appear that white men who suffer from severe mental defects should not be called to resign since every single white man who is in politics is suffering from a severe mental defect for if they are not why then is this country descending rapidly into a hell of their making?

There should be no calls for the resignation of Virginia governor Ralph Northam, just as there should be no calls for the resignation of Donald Trump because where would we find a white man who is anything other than that which is depicted in the above photo blatantly displayed in a medical school yearbook? Descendants of slaves literally put their lives in the hands of flaming racists when we go to the doctor. We put our lives in the hands of stomp down flaming members of the Ku Klux Klan when we meet with a lawyer over a personal injury lawsuit. We put our lives in the hands of monsters when we go before judges who, before donning that black robe, just stepped out of a white robe with a hood attached to it. And yet whites cannot for the life of them wonder why descendants of slaves are a ‘thankless lot’? What the hell should we be thanking you for? For having dragged us over here? For having enslaved us? For having whipped and shackled and raped our ancestors? For having experimented on us even as those experiments continue to this day? We are a people who are without a grain of hope because our lives are at the mercy of warped, twisted, sick and deranged, psychopathic, depraved sociopaths and there is none among the lot of you that this does not apply to. You ALL own this, pink-assed motherfuckers! So sit the fuck down and shut the fuck up because you are nothing more than an opportunist who sees a chance to denounce what another of your kind has done only because he didn’t properly cover his shit up or destroy it. You want your fucked up political party in control and so you will pretend for five minutes that you are shockingly appalled over the devil we see when you are just as evil and fucked up as Ralph Northam. We are not fooled by your antics, not for one goddamn second!

Hillary Clinton had the goddamn unmitigated gall to refer to Black youth as ‘SUPER PREDATORS’ when there is no greater SUPER PREDATOR on this planet than those of the pasty-assed variety since who other than those parasites have managed to slither all across this planet stealing, enslaving, raping, pillaging and committing other atrocities all in the name of democracy and humanitarianism when those two words would refuse to even stand side by side with evil so depraved, it should not even exist? You self-righteous, holier-than-thou, stinking, steaming piles of hypocrisy, shut the fuck up! Virginia’s governor Ralph Northam need not step down since what would take his place would be his clone sporting ‘Black face’ underneath a fucking white hood! History has proved time and time again that the white man is the enemy to every blade of grass, every mammal and fish in the ocean, every animal on land and every pitiful descendant of slaves at the mercy of those twisted demons.

But all of a sudden, now that the shit has hit the fan over Northam’s photo, Eastern Virginia Medical School is now going to review their yearbook policy to figure out how this happened.

“In concert with our Board of Visitors’ leadership, I will direct that an external investigation be conducted as soon as possible to review all of our past yearbooks, determine the processes for publishing those yearbooks; discover what, if any, administrative oversight was exercised; examine our campus culture; and provide recommendations for future actions,” school President Dr. Richard Homan said in a statement posted to the school’s website.

“We will move quickly to assemble an appropriate panel to conduct this investigation — a panel of advocates for diversity and inclusion representative of our greater community, including African Americans and other people of color; a diverse panel that can apply a critical eye to this issue,” he added.

Now, there is going to be an ‘external investigation’, now there is going to be a ‘panel of advocates’, now there is going to be talk about ‘diversity and inclusion’, now there is going to be representation of ‘African Americans’ when this photo was initially placed in Eastern Virginia Medical School’s year book in 1984 and now THIRTY-FIVE years later, it is finally time for an investigation. We all should know that this investigation is a crock of shit seeing as how it is the year 2019 and they are just getting around to launching an investigation but only after one of their students is being publicly shamed over his yearbook’s photo choice. And newsflash, people who come here from Africa do not need ‘representation’ and descendants of slaves will never receive ‘representation, due process, or inclusion’ because we are Amerikkka’s shame and guilt, those Africans who willingly come here are not! We will always feel the lash of the whip. We will always be the brunt of racist jokes. We will always suffer for a crime we did not commit. We will always submit our bodies to be experimented on by those who think it funny that we suffer at their hands and die. We will always be the shame of Amerikkka no matter what you do to us because you cannot erase the truth no matter how hard you try. You are what you are. It is bred into you and you freely accept the brand of racism, prejudice, hatred and bigotry that you market because you are an atrocity that is no different from what sired you. Even as you state that you should not be held accountable for what your ancestors put in play, yes you should because you uphold and carry their vile legacy forward every single day and you do it with great relish, just as they did.

And so no, I am never surprised over the vile and atrocious shit that ‘surfaces’ whenever some other racist has an agenda which in this case was the so-called umbrage taken over Northam’s stance on late-term abortions. Northam’s racist picture did not surface because another racist suddenly had an awakening; an epiphany, Northam’s racist picture surfaced because of an alleged agenda over abortion, ‘alleged’ because what racist even cares about the life of a child? When whites will hand their children guns at the age of 7, how on earth could they then turn around and scream and wail against abortion? All whites are defective since you are too busy trying to destroy us than even attempt a cure for what ails you; racism, prejudice, bigotry, hatred and a predilection for murder. But then, without those defects, you wouldn’t exist because they are the essence of you. And that is why you must destroy humanity because you view humanity as an existential threat to your existence.

There is nothing on this planet that can make whites happy since they can have all that money can buy and yet what do they do with it? Build bombs to destroy and kill. Enslave, steal and plunder. Wage war and induce suffering. Destroy the planet while claiming “Victory!” Go ‘vegan’ while killing animals for human consumption. Wipe out entire Indigenous tribes just because they can. “Go green” while buying an SUV. Yes, you are defective and because you are, those of us who are ‘humanity defined’ suffer for it. We are at the mercy of monsters and so save your vile breath! Ralph Northam is no different from the rest of you depraved, defective, monstrous sociopaths!

Walt Disney Told Our Story!

Black History Month is at an end
and Walt Disney told our story.
We learned about Wakanda
and Black Panther got the glory.

Wearing dashikis and head wraps,
we clapped and cheered for Wakanda;
that magical of all kingdoms,
it looks just like Uganda!

Now, Uganda is over in Africa,
and the poverty rate is high.
Healthcare is abysmal
and people with cholera, they still die.

The folks over in Somalia?
They ain’t looking so good.
Trump just bombed them again,
just like I knew he would.

But over by way of Ethiopia,
the folks there got a plight.
They ain’t eating at all.
And it ain’t about a hunger strike.

The African women of Liberia
have long been seen as slaves;
sex slaves to be exact
and that don’t get no praise.

What about over in Kenya?
They got educated folks
and still, some end up homeless
Look it up, this ain’t no hoax.

Now we come to Ghana,
is this a kingdom too?
It was once ruled by the British.
Does that give you a clue?

Libya is off the chain
and slavery is everywhere.
America and NATO
filled Libyans with despair.

But we celebrate Black History Month
with Black Panther to the rescue.
There’s a kingdom over in Africa,
where lives the privileged few.

Wakanda, is its name.
Its Black Panther leads the charge
against usurpers to the throne
within the kingdom or at large.

Vibranium is its weapon,
against enemies far and wide.
I bet real African nations
wish this kingdom was by their side.

Between fantasy and reality,
we choose fantasy every time.
and we’d rather pay Walt Disney
 our last hard-earned dime.

We don’t care about Liberia,
because that is just too real.
And we don’t live in Uganda
where cholera is a big deal.

We want to live in Wakanda,
fake as it can be.
But that is what we are,
fake people with a fake history.

This here ends Black History,
with many thanks to Walt Disney
who sat us down in Wakanda;
a kingdom; a magical fantasy.

In my opinion, it is a shame that throughout this entire short month that has been set aside to showcase Black History, Walt Disney and Marvel COMICS took over the focus that should have been on REAL Black heroes and heroines who were on the front lines, battling  slavery, oppression, Jim Crow, segregation, voting rights, gentrification, mass unemployment, mass homelessness, a school-to-prison pipeline, mass incarceration, income inequality, substandard health care, cuts to education, inadequate housing, economic inequality, food insecurity, crime, violence, drugs, gangs, teen pregnancies and high homicide rates of Black youth in inner cities and the list is endless.

There was no focus on the above because Black people were so easily distracted into wearing African head wraps and dashikis because a movie was hyped about a fictional kingdom in Africa where there was untold wealth and a superhero to the rescue to protect his rich kingdom.

We would rather remain blind to the facts and to reality. We want, for two hours, to forget the realities we face because we need to be made to ‘feel good’ about belonging to some kingdom in Africa that isn’t even real. How pathetic is that? We want Walt Disney to hurry up and give us Part II of “Wakanda Forever” just in time for next Black History Month so that we can, again, focus on fantasy and not on our reality. How sad is that?

When have we ever lived a “Wakanda Forever” life here in AmeriKKKa? Do you seriously think that even with the links that I have provided in my poem, that the REAL Africa is anything at all like what Walt Disney would have you believe?

When you left the theater, did you see “Wakanda” when you stepped outside? Did you see “Wakanda” when you returned home? Did you see “Wakanda” when you checked out the local news where you live? Did you see “Black Panther” save any Black man, woman or child from being arrested or shot and killed by cops for playing in a park with a toy gun or for failing to use the proper turn signal or for selling loose, un-taxed cigarettes or for simply sleeping in their bed?

How did paying Walt Disney and Marvel Comics for the ‘pleasure’ of watching their distraction help you in any way? Did wearing your dashiki and African head wrap stop the police from pulling you over? Did wearing your dashiki and African head wrap stop your landlord from handing you an eviction notice because your neighborhood is about to be gentrified? Did the “Black Panther” swoop down and take you to “Wakanda Forever?” If you are reading this, Black man, woman, teenager(the few who can read), then the answer is “NO!”

Black History Month? Who needs it when we’ve got “Wakanda Forever!”

“Wakanda?” Forever!

“Thank you Walt Disney for supplying us with our REAL and TRUE History, THIS Black History Month! All hail Walt Disney!”

“Black People, Please Take Your Children To See The New ‘Black Panther’ Movie For Black History Month!”

First of all, let me start off by saying that this movie would NOT be in theaters this month if it were based on the REAL Black Panthers.

The Black Panthers, also known as the Black Panther Party, was a political organization founded in 1966 by Huey Newton and Bobby Seale to challenge police brutality against the African American community. Dressed in black berets and black leather jackets, the Black Panthers organized armed citizen patrols of Oakland and other U.S. cities. At its peak in 1968, the Black Panther Party had roughly 2,000 members. The organization later declined as a result of internal tensions, deadly shootouts and FBI counterintelligence activities aimed at weakening the organization.

The Black Panthers were not solely focused on violence. One notable program was Free Breakfast for Children. They fed as many as 20,000 children in the 1968-69 school year. This was portrayed by detractors as a propaganda and recruitment tool, as the children were taught party messages and ideology during the meals.

As I re-read the above paragraphs, what strikes me is this: “The Black Panthers were not solely focused on violence.” I don’t even know what that means because in order to fight against racism, hate groups and a government that is hell bent on our annihilation, how could it be otherwise? Non-violence did not work because if it did, the man who history lauds as one of the most peace-loving men to have ever lived would have lived out his natural life instead of having been assassinated and we all know who I am referring to; Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. That man tried in every way possible to bring about change, peacefully and what did he get for his efforts, he got an assassin’s bullet, that’s what he got for drawing attention to the plight of slaves in America. That’s right, I said, “Slaves!” Because that is what we all are and aren’t we reminded of it every single day.

Slaves make up only 13% of the population count in America and yet in 2014, slaves represented 34% of the prison population in America and that number is worse today.

Nationwide, Black children represent 32% of children who are arrested, 42% of children who are detained, and 52% of children whose cases are judicially waived to criminal court.

For as long as the government has kept track, the economic statistics have shown a troubling racial gap. Black people are twice as likely as white people to be out of work and looking for a job. This fact was as true in 1954 as it is today.

The most recent report puts the white unemployment rate at around 4.5 percent. The black unemployment rate? About 8.8 percent.

But the economic picture for slaves is far worse than those statistics indicate. The unemployment rate only measures people who are both living at home and actively looking for a job.

What do you think would happen if the unemployment rate for Black people included those who are incarcerated? Add in those who are incarcerated and the unemployment figures for Black men jumps to 18.6%.

The Black Panthers knew that there was no peaceful way to go about effecting change because those who made up the Black Panthers, had themselves been victims of white oppression as we are today. We only have the illusion of freedom because at any given moment, each of us could be killed for no reason whatsoever and this has been playing out on city streets all across America. The slave patrols are decked out in blue and brown uniforms and have been given legal authority by the government of America to round us up whenever it pleases them to do so. Some of us are actually locked inside cages, but those of us who are not actually IN a cage are just as caged. Go into the ‘wrong’ neighborhood and find out how free you are. Protest the murder of another slave for too long and see how fast Gestapo pigs are called out to initiate a curfew to get you off the streets and locked in at night because when you burn down the white man’s means by which he makes a profit, you see just how much a slave, you still are. Get sick and walk in the doors of a hospital seeking help and they will show you that a sick slave is of no use to them, here, and here.

So yes, it is most important that you, as adult slaves, take your children to see this new Black Panther movie that is set to come out in theaters everywhere during this celebration of Slave History Month. Continue to promote the ideals behind slavery, racism, bigotry, Jim Crow, mass incarceration, income inequality, mass homelessness, gentrification, a school-to-prison pipeline, low educational attainment, mass poverty and government sanctioned murder by cop because you are indeed promoting all of the aforementioned especially seeing as how this movie is produced by Marvel Studios and distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures. And in order to understand how racist Walt Disney was is to read about Walt Disney.

The charge: Walt Disney was racist.
The evidence: These charges stem primarily from the use of racial stereotypes in Disney movies from the 40s: Dumbo’s black crows; Fantasia’s black servant centaurette; and Song of the South, a movie so offensive that the Disney company will no longer let it be seen in public. Then there is Walt Disney’s own behavior: Gabler cites a meeting in which Disney referred to the Snow White dwarves as a “nigger pile” and another in which he used the term “pickaninny.” The book notes that Disney anticipated the Song of the South controversy and attempted to make it less racist with a rewrite and meeting with the NAACP. The meeting never happened, and the movie was released anyway. There was also some controversy about the company’s unwillingness to hire minorities at Disneyland.

I see that I’ve got to change a few words, Slaves, take your “nigger piles,” your “pickanninies” to see Walt Disney’s Black Panther and while you’re there ask the theater to beg the Disney Corporation to re-release the movie, “Song of the South,” so that you can then return and view how happy and helpful slaves were to white folks when we were still needed to pick cotton, cook and clean for them and lie down with them upon demand.

This blog post is a direct result of another blog I read about how Black children should see this movie, “Black Panther” because it will show them that there were great Black kingdoms and it will show them that Black people can have super powers and everything will just be great. Seriously???!! So these Black pickanninies, once they’ve looked at this movie, will leave the theater thinking that they have the ability to fly to freedom, to escape poverty, to get into a leaky boat and head to some great Black kingdom, to understand that the reason their daddy, uncle and cousin is incarcerated is because they just refused to use their super powers to escape incarceration in a land where they will never be free, whether caged or not. Yes, give your pickanninies the illusion of “Black Panther,” produced and released by the same company that lovingly gave us “Song of the South.”

By viewing “Black Panther,” our pickanninies will celebrate Slave History Month like it should be celebrated. We will continue to enrich the coffers of our slave owners just as we’ve always done. We may no longer cook all Massa’s meals, we may no longer pick his cotton, we may no longer tend his fields from sunup to sundown, but by god, we shall surely give our hard-earned pennies to him during this month that he has set aside for us to celebrate his benevolence towards us by putting together a movie starring many who look like us and who are from a fake kingdom when the truth of the matter is this movie is not far off its mark because there truly was a kingdom and our ancestors resided there, but the Walt Disneys of this world saw an opportunity in your ancestors and so they took them, they took them to enrich themselves and you are a product of that enrichment and you are still enriching them today. Oh, I am pretty sure that it was just a major coincidence that “Black Panther” is coming out just in time for Black History Month, I am that naïve.

I am so very sorry that the strong Black people of yesteryear are no longer with us because the women of the Civil Rights Movement would not be taking their children to see a movie that will be released by the very same company that released “Song of the South.” Their children would take part in a boycott of this movie just as they took part in the Montgomery Bus Boycott.

The Montgomery Bus Boycott was a civil-rights protest during which African Americans refused to ride city buses in Montgomery, Alabama, to protest segregated seating. The boycott took place from December 5, 1955, to December 20, 1956, and is regarded as the first large-scale U.S. demonstration against segregation.

The Women’s Political Council (WPC), a group of black women working for civil rights, began circulating flyers calling for a boycott of the bus system on December 5, the day Parks would be tried in municipal court.

Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., and the Black women and men of his day, showed us all how to stick it to the white man; one word, BOYCOTT! And that is just something we have never been willing to continue because a movie is more important than mass incarceration, massive unemployment, income inequality, gentrification, mass homelessness, food insecurity, poverty, gangs, drugs and crime in ‘Black’ communities, inequality in health care, brain developmental problems in our children due to lead paint poisoning and yet, we are going to celebrate all of this by watching a movie because we just want a two-hour break from our reality and right afterwards, we will continue to piss and moan and whine about why we are still, slaves, and  treated as such. Ask your cousin Terrell if they are showing this movie in the prison he’s serving a 30-year sentence in for having on his person, a dime bag of weed. Ask your niece, Lakeisha if they’ll be showing “Black Panther” at the prison she is serving time at because she was arrested for prostitution and drug possession; drugs to feed her crack habit. Yeah! Ask them! And then go to the affluent suburbs of Atlanta and see how white affluent heroin addicts are treated. They’ll not be rubbing shoulders with Lakeisha since affluent white addicts that have engaged in prostitution to feed their habit are sent to rehab for as many times as it takes to get them back on the road to recovery. Meanwhile, Lakeisha sits inside a prison slaving away for pennies sewing shirts and pants for corporations because you see, she is inside a ‘For Profit Prison’ and when she goes to shower, some white male prison guard is watching her and then is making her perform sex acts on him and he is raping her. But by going to see “Black Panther,” we are doing her a world of good, just as we are also doing the Black man that’s doing time and submitting to homosexual acts, just as much good because when he gets out, his wife or girlfriend is going to understand what it means to have AIDS!

And don’t forget the popcorn as you sit back, relax and enjoy “Black Panther,” the movie.

Happy Black Slave History Month!

Black Supremacy!

Black Supremacy, it is not just a state of mind,
it is the melanin in my skin and those of my kind.
Black Supremacy, we were told, really did not exist.
And yet, it is to be found in every raised Black fist.

Black Supremacy, the whites consider it a threat,
as they seek our demise, but it hasn’t happened yet.
Black Supremacy is in my style that is copied every day,
in my dreadlocks and my braids and in my hips, that I sway.

Black Supremacy is the slave who would not bend or break,
she is why I’m here and why my slave name, I won’t take.
Black Supremacy is my mom who taught me how to read
and that to get an education is how I would succeed.

Black Supremacy is my dad who works to keep me fed,
and who comes home at night and tucks me in my bed.
Black Supremacy marched through streets
against those who wore white sheets.

Black Supremacy, they tried to lynch
with hatred’s putrid stench.
Black Supremacy reigns supreme
and is every white man’s dream.

Black Supremacy just won’t die
though to the white man, that’s a lie.
Black Supremacy, is here to stay.
So get your white ass out my way!
Black Supremacy, though much maligned
is humanity, redefined.

As someone wrote on another blog post of mine, ‘white supremacy’ is a misnomer for how can it be otherwise? Who in the world other than depraved lunatics, could invade sovereign nations, kill indigenous populations, enslave people for profit, drop atomic bombs on innocent people, start wars over lies, initiate coups against minor Latin countries and establish American puppets there, use white phosphorous on the innocent people of Iraq, torture people in their land after having invaded it over a lie, experimented on people of color as in The Tuskegee Syphilis Experiment, The Guatemalan STD Study, inflict horrors on the people of Puerto Rico and islanders all across this planet, render millions homeless, infest communities of color with addictive drugs and then incarcerate the addicts, jail people of color in numbers disproportionate to their population count, deliberately allow children of color to eat lead paint which leads to brain developmental growth problems and learning disabilities, throw sick people of color out of hospitals and watch them die because of it, lynch people because of the color of their skin, promote separate entrances for people based on the color of their skin, promote gentrification, put into play, a school-to-prison pipeline for children of color, poison the air we breathe, the food we eat and the water we drink and still consider themselves to be ‘white supremacists? Who? We ALL know! So best believe, there is not a thing ‘supremacy’ like about you. The people who are overwhelmingly filled with supremacy are Black people because we have managed not to murder you depraved lunatics in record numbers despite all that you have done to us simply because your depraved ancestors dragged ours over here and you are no different from them; that’s one reason we are filled with supremacy because we are ‘humanity, redefined’. We are not ‘humanity’ as you ‘whites’ would define it because you would place yourselves under the definition of ‘humanity’ when nothing could be further from the truth. You, of ‘humanity’? HA! That’ll be the day! Black people have tolerated your racist shit for hundreds of years and still you try and paint yourselves as saviors instead of what you really are; piles of filth beneath shit and flies! As vile as you are, how the word ‘supremacy’ can even escape from between your lips is a complete and utter mystery to me! That just shows how arrogant and conceited you are, but a ‘supremacist’? Not a goddamn chance in hell!

That stupid ‘white supremacy’ shit ends right now and as we head into ‘Black History Month’, I am declaring February to be “Black Supremacy Month!”

To ALL my Black brothers and sisters, this one is for YOU!

February Is Slave History Month

slave-history-month-one

Yea though I stand humbly draped in chains,
I am allowed to celebrate slave history gains.
And since I shall die while serving my white master,
make a note that I worshipped at your feet, sweet Alabaster.

Make no mistake, I am grateful for no freedom
since oppression is what I’m used to as I head to God’s kingdom.
There, I will be judged by their god of outrageous lies
and found stunningly unfit by the lord of these flies.
So, please stand with me now as we thank our dear captors
for our place in history; all twenty-eight chapters.

As we are all aware by now, we are in the midst of celebrating Slave History Month and so without further ado, let the celebrations begin.

Those of us who had no choice but to be here since we did not immigrate but are here nevertheless thanks to our ancestors having been forcibly dragged here, take this opportunity to thank those who are the spawn of what dragged us here for giving us this month to celebrate that fact. It is quite apparent that those who wish us to thank them for this opportunity to stand before them in chains to this very day, are awaiting demonstrations of gratitude from us. We have not humbled ourselves in their kitchens, slave quarters, bathrooms, bedrooms and fields quite to their satisfaction for why else have they given us this month in which to thank them for their generosity; their thoughtfulness in dragging our ancestors from Africa to America? How can we let them know just how truly delighted we are to have twenty-eight chapters…I mean, twenty-eight days in which to celebrate our slave history?

And if you think you are not still a slave, why, Donald Trump just disabused you of that notion by in essence, speaking of Frederick Douglass as though he were still alive today.

Trump had this to say about Frederick Douglass. “Frederick Douglass is an example of someone who’s done an amazing job and is being recognized more and more, I noticed.”

Frederick Douglass, on behalf of Donald Trump, we wish to take this opportunity to thank you for your continued excellence in getting your point across as it pertains to “What to the slave is your fourth of July celebrations?‘ as you tour America today. Apparently, you did not die in 1895 since Trump is noticing that you are being recognized more and more wherever you go even though most of us are aware that you were born into slavery. It is good to know that you are still with us and even though you are still a slave, they have given you leeway to go on tour to promote your abolitionist views.

I hear tell that Harriet Tubman is being brought back to life in the form of her picture on the twenty dollar bill. What in the world is President Jackson saying about this? And I know he will not keep quiet about it. But then, we shall surely wait for Donald Trump to get around to enlightening us on that score. So many slaves still here with us today to celebrate Slave History Month and so let us thank them for their continued sacrifices on our behalf. For theirs has been an excruciatingly long and arduous struggle and we also have many Civil Rights icons that we want to thank as well; Rosa Parks, Fannie Lou Hamer, Bayard Rustin, Ralph Abernathy, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., Malcolm X, Ella Baker, Medgar Evers and so many, many more.

But today, as we celebrate Slave History Month, our celebrations are being upended thanks to The Donald’s Muslim ban and the cries for us to stand in solidarity with the Muslim community that never stood in solidarity with us; in fact, went out of its way to make sure that the ‘whites’ knew that we could not count on Muslim solidarity in our time of need. What group has ever stood in solidarity with us? Most certainly not the Muslims. And just so you know this to be true, here is a little excerpt that I took from a blog that I was reading earlier.

In the Fight Against Islamophobia, Solidarity with other Marginalized Groups is Key

when I sit around listening to aunties at parties giving pointers to each other on the best times to go to yoga classes so as to avoid black people. (Honestly, it’s a charitable interpretation of their language to even say they refer to black folks as people; most of the time they casually use the term kala, which literally means just “black” in Hindi/Urdu.)

Isn’t that nice? Black people are not even referred to as people, only as the ‘color’, Black, literally by the Muslims. You are less than a color to these Muslims. At least the ‘whites’ gave you the dubious distinction of being three-fifths human, but the Muslims don’t even give you that much. And so, you are going to stand somewhere in solidarity with some shits that don’t even see you as ‘human’? What does that say for them? Send their ass packing Donald Trump; each and every damn one of them. Send them packing!

And yes, we must be avoided at all times but because the Muslims are afraid for their very lives now, it has now been deemed appropriate to wake up and recognize that the ‘whites’ are now coming for them, so let’s get with the program that it would be to their benefit to get with ‘the color Black’ at yoga class because those  ‘Black colors’ have been marginalized since forever. The Muslim marginalization has just begun and they want to recognize the fact of ‘the ongoing color Black’ marginalization just NOW! Too goddamn late! Don’t let the door hit you on your ass on the way out of yoga class or on the way out of this country! Send them packing, Donald Trump! Send them packing! And if that isn’t bad enough, read this:

I knew my marginalization wasn’t unique every time I heard my classmates cycle through a seemingly endless repertoire of racist jokes on the schoolbus, about everything from the emo-Muslim who lets out angst by crashing planes to the Mexicans coming out of holes in their backyards to the eternal crowd favorite, “What do you call 3 black men on the moon? Three black men on the moon. What do you call 3 million? Problem solved!”
Just as horrifying as these jokes was the expectation that I would laugh at them too — since, hey, I’m not Mexican or black, so what business do I have being offended?

To take offense for the sake of people different from you is to begin to become invested in a politics deeper than your own individual hurt.

WOW! Hey slaves in America, you taking note of this? This newly marginalized Muslim here has been listening to these racist comments all her life but has chosen this time to dig up some hurt for you because now Muslims like herself are being targeted. So, this indeed is the case of “I did not speak up when first they came for the Blacks in my yoga class, I did not speak up when they told racist jokes about Black men, but now, I want these same ‘marginalized’ people to get with the program that we should now gather in a group hug and recognize that we need each other since I am now one of the ‘marginalized’.” Nope, not going to happen! If you were never in my corner…AND, you were NOT!!!, you are never going to be in my corner simply because the focus is not just solely on our ass anymore, but now they have dumped their collective hatred onto your ass! And even your various college degrees are not enough to save you from their hysterical hatred for Muslims from select countries who hold green cards or an H-1b visa. You see the one difference between us is I don’t hold a green card nor a visa because I was born here. Can you say the same? No, I didn’t think so because if you could, you wouldn’t be so put out about this Muslim ban, would you? They cannot put your sorry ass out of this country fast enough to suit me! Send them packing Donald Trump! Send them packing!

So, let us celebrate Slave History Month, my fellow slaves because we are on our own. There is no need for you to feel pressured to march through the streets with those who are afraid of some immigration ban because their fight is not your fight since your fight, they never bothered with or even thought about since it did not seem as though the ‘whites’ would ever pick a fight with them. No, celebrate your Slave History Month for what it is worth and tell those who would stand in solidarity with you now that karma is a bitch! Send them packing Donald Trump! Send them packing!

A Black Rose In Bloom!

black-roses-in-bloom-one

Too dark, but yet, always seen
at each and every crime scene.
Whether you stand for peace or not,
whatever you do, it is all for naught.

You can be Dr. King with a dream
or Malcolm X with a Black power scream.
But either way, you’ll end up dead;
no life in you; just a tombstone at your head.

You can be a doctor walking home from work
and be shot because in that neighborhood, you should not lurk.
You go to school because you want an education,
but they peg you instead for incarceration.

They gave you a month to celebrate achievements
for all the assassinations, funerals and bereavements.
You are sent to their doctors to receive a cure
and told you’ve got bad blood; it just ain’t pure.

They say, “Vaccinate your children against this disease,”
while they fill you with lead paint; those who are your enemies.
Never look to the ones with no melanin in their skin
and expect to come out on top, or to win.

Their desire is not that you should ever thrive
but for all they do to you, you still manage to survive.
So, fear not that Trump will be the harbinger of your doom
for he too is powerless to stop a Black rose in bloom!

I wrote this because as we all know, we just finished ‘celebrating’ Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day and for all that has been going down, I don’t even know why. For surely he could never have perceived in his wildest ‘dreams’ that we would be where we are now, but then again, he most likely would not be surprised since it is widely known that he was about to change his stance from one of peaceful to aggressive because peaceful just wasn’t getting it done. And us Black folk had better go about things all peaceful like, if we are to go about at all. Otherwise, it’s a coffin for us.

And yet, they set aside a day in remembrance of a man they killed because he finally figured out what most of us know and that is that the white man is not going to give up his ‘white privilege’ that he has decreed unto himself; not without a fight. Malcolm X knew this and that is why he was called a ‘radical’ and assassinated. We need more like him but all we have is the likes of Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton who are nothing more than sell-out dogs begging for the white man’s table scraps. They do not represent us. They are only out for themselves.

So, as we approach Black History Month that the whites have so graciously given to us to celebrate all their achievements of shooting, lynching or sickening us and our loved ones, we must remember to thank them for their generosity in giving us the month of February to be used as one short month of bereavement over the fact of mass incarceration, assassinations, lynching, gentrification, income inequality, low educational attainment, a school-to-prison pipeline,  mass homelessness, indifferent health care, eugenics experimentation and we must also thank them for allowing us to continue to play subservient roles that entail cleaning, cooking and other domestic type duties that we crawled into boats to come over here alongside all the other ‘immigrants’ to do. With friends like these, we don’t need enemies and yet, despite all of this, the Black rose still blooms! May it forever bloom in spite of and despite ‘them’!

Repeating The Past Will Not Change A Thing!

repeating the past

Repeating the past will not change a thing.
Printing more signs and marching won’t bring
the dead back to life or make Black people free.
And your spiritual songs make a mockery
of a past you don’t know but fail to seek.
You believe what you’re told; how obligingly meek!

And as long as you remain right where you are,
on your forehead, they will brand a gold star
Such fools are we to listen to lies
and continue on as though we aren’t despised.

Juneteenth, we celebrate and for what, I don’t know
because from where I sit, this is a Minstrel show.
You strut on the stage and expect an award.
You run with a ball and think you are adored.

But drive down the street and go the wrong way
and your ass will find out that whitey don’t play.
So bow to the slavers that still own you today,
for they and their god, you choose to obey.

And of course, lest I forget, Happy ‘Black’ History Month! Let the celebration begin!

Black History

Black History Month

Dragged from your native land,
on a floating barge of death;
you built paradise for a thief
who then plundered all the wealth.

Your name was not your own.
You would never again be free.
To know such hate from them,
as they hang you from a tree.

They say that slavery’s over.
Go forth and earn your keep.
And though you labor long,
you’re valued much too cheap.

You were denied so many rights.
And the vote was not for you.
Though many marched and died,
the court bid that adieu.

Some think you’ve made great strides
in the face of all that’s wrong.
Yet they herd you into prison,
because they hate that you are strong.

Be wary of their smiles,
for they mean you so much harm.
If you’ve a talent, they’ll exploit it.
All over you, they’ll swarm.

They’ll use you and then kill you.
You’re nothing but a thing,
and when your candle’s burned
you’ll feel ole Massa’s sting.

Don’t ever let your guard down,
and it doesn’t pay to trust.
Shield from them any weakness.
Always show them your disgust.

Black history holds no fame.
And it certainly gets no cheer.
Times have never changed.
They still look at you and jeer!

Although this one is pretty much self-explanatory, I will just add that though there are a few, and I do mean few stories about progress that some Negroes have made, the fact remains that this is no time to be celebrating because the majority of us are fucked up and just a glance around will make that fact, quite obvious.

I was pretty much torn over what to post about this month and I see no reason to attempt to put together some feel good shit because nothing ‘feels’ good to me, not at all. Too much nasty shit has gone down and the murder of Freddie Gray, Tamir Rice, Renisha McBride, Aiyana Jones, Sandra Bland, Walter Scott, John Crawford, Eric Garner, Michael Brown and there are so many others are still too raw for me, emotionally speaking, to post any uplifting stories about Negro history during what the ‘whites’ have designated, “Black History Month.”

I will leave it up to others to showcase the ‘feel good’ shit of Negro history and if any inspiration should strike me, you’ll be the second to know.
