MINNEAPOLIS — A sprawling homeless encampment that had hundreds of tents at its peak is gone from Powderhorn Park in Minneapolis. Sanitation workers hauled away the last few tents Monday, July 20, and park police arrested about 20 people, residents and activists who refused to leave.

Black Babies in Kansas are More Likely to Die Than White Babies, and the Pandemic Made Things Worse

Wichita, KS— For years, Black babies in Kansas faced an outsized chance of dying before their first birthday. Then the COVID-19 pandemic hit, and things got even worse.

Now, a Black baby is nearly three and a half times as likely to die in the state as a white baby. While the nationwide rate of infant mortality dropped between 2019 and 2020, the rate in Kansas swelled about 19% — and for Black children, it surged nearly 58%.

That means that for every 1,000 Black children born, nearly 17 died within their first year of life. For white children, the rate is fewer than five out of every 1,000.

“We knew that (the pandemic) was going to impact Black infant mortality,” said Sapphire Garcia-Lies, a Wichita-based doula and the founder of Kansas Birth Justice Society, a nonprofit working to lower racial disparities around maternal and infant health. “But I don’t think any of us knew that it would be that bad.”

Black families run into more barriers in accessing health care before, during and after pregnancy, said Sharla Smith, a professor at the University of Kansas Medical Center who directs the Kansas Birth Equity Network. And the care those families get, she said, is often worse than what white families can expect.

“We see a lot of discrimination,” Smith said. “We’re also hearing from our parents that they’re not listened to.”

She said part of that stems from systemic racism in the health care system, including a dearth of Black and brown doctors.

I would hate to be a parent of school-aged kids nowadays. I have said so many times the last few years, that my Daddy would have gone to the school and kicked some school-board ass! And that was before drag-queen story time began. After drag-queen storytime began, he would have gone up to the school with his war buddies, and they would have shut the damned place down.

Those people are crazy. How the curriculum in the schools are, teaching 4-5 year olds how to give blow jobs? And what vibrators are, and how to use them? Teaching then about anal sex? What ever happened to the sweet innocence of children?

Hell, kids are not allowed to be kids anymore. You have teachers and sickos trying to convince them to change genders at such a young age, that the rest of their miserable lives are going to be so fucked up, they are not going to be able to have any semblance of a normal life. What kind of adults are these kids going to be? A lot of the male mass-murderers complained that their mothers were whores – as in prostitutes, and street whores. What are these kids going to be when they grow up?

Trust me, I would be homeschooling my kids too. Then you have the govt. telling parents that their children belong to the whole community, that the kids aren’t their kids, they are the communities kids. Hell, once the community starts paying for the kids, maybe. But by God…

It is a known fact that as we age, we lose cognitive function which is why so many elderly are residing in assisted living communities and nursing homes.

Black Woman In Minnesota Steps Over Homeless Black People To Board A Plane To Help Whites Fleeing Ukraine

I need to seriously stop reading the news before my head explodes. Tell me, how does THIS make any sense? This stupid black bitch is flying out of Minneapolis to help some damn white-assed racists over in Ukraine. She is flying right over the heads of thousands of people who look just like her and who are sitting up in tents in Minneapolis wondering where is the help for them. And that shit in Minnesota has the audacity to say that they are “Minnesota Nice?” Fuck THAT shit! How do you not see video after video of homeless encampments right outside your back door, but you’ve got to look at the TV or a video to know that there are some people in a foreign country having some issues that you are breaking your fucking neck to get to because, for some strange reason, they are more worthy than the poor souls who have been living like refugees a whole hell of a lot longer than those in Ukraine?

The black woman in this video just drove past thousands of homeless people sleeping in tents like refugees in a war torn land and it is a war, it is a war against us to make ALL of us, homeless. This black woman boarded a plane to help the same type of people she just flew over, but because these people are not a hashtag movement and are not viral at the moment and on everyone’s lips, they are not worthy of help. How can these people actually see nothing wrong with what they are doing? Folks, those numbers may as well not even be posted because I have volunteered in homeless shelters and I have seen with my very own eyes, people turned away because there are no beds available. I had to stop volunteering because no one should be turned away. As cold as a Minnesota night can get, there is no way that I could sit there and watch people being told to go back out into the elements in minus 0 degree weather. And yet, those worthless shits like that Black woman who know that people are out on the streets trying to survive in her surrounding neighborhoods would rather board a plane and help someone in a foreign country than do anything to help those who need that same assistance she is heading to Ukraine to dish out. There is no need to board a plane and help a damn soul over in Ukraine because there are countless souls here who need the help that is heading to Ukraine. Not one of those people who have been sitting up in homeless encampments here deserve their plight either. They did not drop bombs on anyone. They did nothing to deserve sitting outside with no hope and no one to care that they are out of options, hope and solutions. Your damn ass is not showing how humane you are by flying over the homeless here in AmeriKKKa to help some racist shits in Ukraine.
