I Had A Dream…..!

I had a dream the other night and in it was Dr. King.
I stared in awestruck wonder as my eyes began to sting.
The expression on his face was so solemn and yet so kind,
I wondered if he knew about the turmoil in my mind.
What could I say to him about the troubles we still know?
And I wondered if he knew about the debt that whites still owe?
I implored him with my mind to see history through my eyes
and this distorted world of whites who still hail him with their lies.
I wanted him to see the view from where we stand
beneath a concrete bridge and homeless in this land,
where Jim Crow still exists from when hatred was unleashed
and though he too was jailed, millions weren’t released.

Today, they’ll praise his name and say that things have changed
that they no longer burn a cross or watch a Black man hanged.
But we all know the truth in that lynching still exists
and I see the whip slice forward, there’s the echo of its hiss.
The view from where I stand is not from on a mountain top
as I look upon my brother, killed by a racist cop.
His blood still stains the ground and as I turn to Dr. King,
I extend my hands towards him for to him, I want to cling,
to beg him to come back to us, but he only shakes his head.
I then realize tis a dream and that Dr. King is dead!

As we, again, celebrate Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., Day which this year happens to fall on his birthday, we will hear from people who would assassinate Dr. King a million times over if they could. We will hear from the hypocrites who pretend to pay homage to a man who was not for corporations and who was against the mis-treatment of the poor and yet,  on the front page of every newspaper, magazine, television screen and any other type of news media, we will be bombarded with images of Dr. King and we shall hear his “I Have A Dream!” speech another trillion times and then, that’s it folks!

Not a thing has changed since Dr. King’s speeches, marches, protests and nothing will because simply posting a picture of him and recalling his words does nothing. If anything, things have gotten much worse.

For instance:

The University of Maryland Medical Center’s top executive apologized to a patient who was discharged and found on the street wearing only a thin hospital gown and socks outside its midtown facility, calling it an isolated incident.

“We take full responsibility for this failure,” Dr. Mohan Suntha said during a Thursday afternoon news conference. The hospital did not provide “basic humanity and compassion,” he added.

Hospital officials have not said what the woman was treated for in the emergency room or why she was left out in the cold near a public transit bus stop. Mohan said she received proper care while in the hospital and that the incident happened after discharge.

Translation!

As we celebrate Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., Day as well as his birthday, just a few days ago, another Black woman was thrown out of a hospital by security, clad only in a hospital gown and socks. While she was wandering aimlessly around, with no obvious idea of what to do, another Black man decided to tape the incident because he was absolutely beyond horrified over witnessing this shocking event.

Because the event was taped and posted on Youtube, now there is an uproar about ‘patient dumping’ that seems to happen to mostly Black patients and the hospital’s top executive stated that this patient “received proper care while in the hospital and that the incident happened after discharge.”

Excuse me! But when did it become the norm to discharge patients in a hospital gown and socks in the middle of a frigid winter’s night? I can tell you that of the times that I have been discharged from a hospital, you had damn well better believe that I was not discharged in a hospital gown and hospital socks and told to “Suck it!” as this woman was apparently told to do! How many times have you seen a patient sitting in a chair being wheeled out of a hospital and to a bus stop by security while still wearing a hospital gown(open in the back) and socks? And if you read the article, it mentions that this happens more times than we know and especially to the homeless. Go figure!

And yet, we are really going to celebrate Dr. King’s legacy? Is this his legacy? Seriously??!! We really want to go there??!!! When Dr. King, along with his civil rights organization, the Southern Christian Leadership Conference, decided to launch a campaign to highlight the many problems facing the poor, the result of that today is to put poor patients out on the street in the middle of a frigid winter’s night in nothing but a thin hospital gown that doesn’t even close in the back and a pair of hospital socks? But that is an acceptable discharge according to the hospital’s executive director? Because the hospital is responsible for you from the time you are admitted until the time you are SAFELY discharged. And being sent out in that condition, especially in a city like Baltimore, is anything but SAFELY discharged.

How is this even happening? It is happening because poor people are not even thought of as human even in a hospital. Read about Anna Brown and Barbara Dawson and then come talk to me about how Dr. King’s legacy is alive and well because these two women are dead since they were treated just as this woman in Baltimore was treated.

So, go ahead, post your blogs commemorating Dr. King and espouse upon his legacy as though that has any meaning whatsoever because quite obviously, none of us know a damn thing about how we are supposed to be treating each other and we don’t want to know. Can you imagine Dr. King, with a smartphone in his hand, more worried about getting the latest model over helping some poor, homeless and sick woman find her way? Do you think that Dr. King would give a damn about a Wi-Fi connection? How does that help feed the hungry? How does that clothe the naked, like this woman who was dumped out of a hospital in the cold? How does that help a single mom who is about to become homeless with her kids? A mom who just recently worked for one of the Sam’s Clubs that Wal-Mart just shut down without any warning whatsoever which means for those of you who want to blame the victim for their troubles, who is to blame when the company you work for closes its doors and you only find out that you don’t have a job when you report to work?

Yes indeed, let us cease and desist with all social programs because the poor should just die already as this is why we celebrate Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., Day! Let the hypocrisy begin!

Of Dr. King, We Are Just So Proud!

Dr Martin Luther King Jr1

Of Dr. King, we are just so proud.
That man, he always drew a crowd.
He paved the way to a much brighter day.
His dream is alive in every way.

Tamir Rice is here to tell his story.
And Sandra Bland has no need to ever worry,
that her life will be snuffed out in a cell,
because Dr. King, he rang the freedom bell.

Michael Brown is in college where he belongs.
Eric Garner is in church singing spiritual songs.
Walter Scott is still driving down the street.
Freddie Gray is sitting down to a meal to eat.

They all owe their lives to Dr. King.
He said, “Let freedom ring! Let freedom ring!”
On the mountaintop, he saw through space and time.
And yet, they killed him while he was in his prime.

We thank him for the debt he willingly paid,
and for all the sacrifices he and his family made.
But what we will never know for certain,
is how he would react when they finally raise the curtain,
on a show that is a tragedy of the darkest kind,
and where Blacks are still left so far behind.
This play will not have a happy ending,
for its ending is just like its beginning.

Behold, the face of slavery is still Black.
And as in days of old, we are under attack.
But a man had a dream for which he died.
Was it all for naught? I’ll let you decide!

I am posting this a little early because I want you to take some time to reflect on the question I posed. “Was it all for naught?” If Black people have made so many gains in the decades since the Civil Rights Movement, then where are they? If we as a people have ‘moved’ forward, then where are the results? #BLACKLIVESMATTER? Give me a break! If we as a people had moved, there would be no need for the #BLACKLIVESMATTER Movement, now would there? The incarceration rate for Black men is off the charts. Millions of Black people live in deep poverty and a ridiculously high number of them are Black children. Millions of Black people are jobless, homeless and hungry and lack healthcare. But here we are, about to celebrate Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., Day. Celebrate what, I ask you? Tell me! What is there to celebrate? Staggering unemployment figures for Black youth and young adults? A homelessness epidemic? Mass incarceration? A school-to-prison pipeline? Out-of-control racist KKKops brutalizing and murdering unarmed Black people? Grand Juries that refuse to hand down indictments on racist thugs with badges? Gun violence in Black communities that are so impoverished as to be likened to 3rd world nation conditions?

And yet the ‘whites’ sit back and gleefully point the finger at what is going down in communities of color and point to how ‘violent they are when they know why. Whites know that this is all done by design, but it is so easy for them to live in their little ‘white bread’ world and hurl invectives and “I told you sos” when ‘whites’ are hell bent on gentrifying neighborhoods that once housed Black people because the suburbs was once the place to be if you were ‘white’. You sit somewhere with your holier-than-thou attitudes as though your shit don’t stink. You shamelessly and callously wish death on a group of people who were not responsible for being dragged to this hellhole you call, America. You strut around like proud peacocks, puffing your chests out and pretending that you’re not rotten filth when you are actually worse than that. And you have the unmitigated gall to pretend to acknowledge Dr. King with your phony ass displays of righteous indignation over the brutal treatment he received at the hands of ‘whites’. You have the nerve to speak his name, to post his “I Have A Dream” speech as though you ever did a thing to help bring his dream to fruition. You’ve done everything possible to see to it that his dream was never realized and you are not fit to read his name, much less speak it. Why you have not burst into flames upon speaking his name is a complete and utter mystery to me because all that should be left of you is ‘white’ ash!

The only thing I can say to the ‘whites’ is this, “If it were up to me…if it were up to me!!!”

$6.4 Million Dollars

Freddie Gray10

Case closed!

Baltimore officials approved a $6.4 million deal Wednesday to settle all civil claims tied to the death of Freddie Gray.
Gray suffered a fatal spinal injury while he was transported in a Baltimore police van in April.

The settlement does not “represent any judgment” on the guilt or innocence of the six police officers charged in the case, Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake said. “This settlement represents an opportunity to bring closure to the Gray family, the community and the city.”

Six point four million dollars
and you can’t spend a cent.
After attorney’s fees,
that money’s all but spent.

You are dead and buried.
They put a price on the how you died.
If there had been no witnesses,
again, they would have lied.

It’s cold comfort to you
that your family’s getting paid
by the City of Baltimore,
when in a coffin, you were laid.

And still, nothing’s changed.
The same shit is going down.
We protest another murder
of the Black and of the Brown.

We are all just refugees
 with no place to run.
They’ve got us hemmed in,
down to the last one.

Oh, we march down the street
like they did in sixty-three.
Dr. King and all the others
marched on Washington, DC.

Did it change things for you?
Oh that’s right, you can’t talk.
We’ll print another protest sign
and then we’ll take a walk.

Rest easy, Freddie Gray.
We shall surely make you proud.
Can’t you hear the pleas and cries
erupting from the crowd?

This time, it’s going to work;
this marching thing we do.
There’s no reason why it shouldn’t.
Ain’t that what we said to you?

So, the mayor of Baltimore says that, “It’s closure time!” Ain’t that a bitch? The coffin lid was ‘closed’ on Freddie Gray back in April. He has already gotten his ‘closure’. Can’t get more ‘closure’ than dead ‘closure’. What the fuck else is left? Oh right! The BIG payday. And who is going to get the bulk of the $6.4 million? The attorney and the ‘tax man’. What the Caucasoid giveth, he make sure you give it right back to his ass! Yep! Freddie Gray can rest easy now. Everything is cool. Mayor Rawlings-Blake made a statement and that statement is to all her ‘thugs’, uh…all of her constituents that ‘rioted’ that it is time for ‘closure’. See? Freddie Gray is happily silent over his $6.4 million dollar payout, his family’s lawyer can smile all the way to the bank and the City of Baltimore will get the majority of the payout back in taxes. All’s well that ‘ends’..uh…closures well!

Young black man jailed since April for alleged $5 theft found dead in cell

hampton roads regional jail in portsmouth virginia

A young black man arrested by police in Portsmouth, Virginia, on the same day that one of the city’s officers fatally shot an unarmed black 18-year-old, has been found dead in jail after spending almost four months behind bars without bail for stealing groceries worth $5.Jamycheal Mitchell, who had mental health problems, was discovered lying on the floor of his cell by guards early last Wednesday, according to authorities. While his body is still awaiting an autopsy, senior prison officials said his death was not being treated as suspicious.

What a goddamn shame! The article also states that Jamycheal Mitchell was accused of stealing a bottle of Mountain Dew, a Snickers bar and a Zebra Cake worth a total of $5 from a 7-Eleven and was arrested for this, sat in jail for four months and then died from ‘natural causes’ AT 24 YEARS OF AGE, after having lost 65 pounds and was emaciated at time of death.

A man was in jail for FOUR goddamn months, on a $5.00 theft charge???!!!! Let me get this straight! A Negro man in the south was in jail for FOUR goddamn months, on a $5.00 theft charge! Anybody still wondering why my Negro ass left Virginia? And I must not forget that ‘on that same day, members of the KKK dressed in their official ‘nigger killer’ outfits, and not their usual white sheets and hoods, gunned down another unarmed 18 year old Negro man because well…BLACKLIVESMATTER!

I’d like to pose a question to the #BLACKLIVESMATTER group, could you please hurry up and establish a southern chapter to deal with the issues of  Negroes located in the South because it would seem that the NAACC, formerly known as the NAACP fell asleep on the job? The National Association Advancing Corporate Coons dropped the ball on these two tragedies and on all the other tragedies that have been plaguing the Negro since that organization was founded.

Now, along comes #BLACKLIVESMATTER, that according to some, has been up and running since the murder of Trayvon Martin and since Trayvon’s murder, I am pretty sure that thanks in part to this wonderful and helpful, kick-ass movement, things have gotten better for the Negro in AmeriKKKa, except for these two ‘out-of-the-blue incidents that are anomalies and should in no way, shape or form be considered setbacks in the push for BLACKLIVESTOMATTER.

At the risk of repeating myself, die-ins are productive, how? Marches are productive, how? Lame ass limp ass protest signs are productive, how? Wearing out the soles of more shoes is productive, how? Waving my hands in the air like I just don’t care is productive, how?

Bear with me as I travel back in time and pose a question to Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. “Dr. King, how do you feel about the concept of non-violent peaceful protesting seeing as how you and about a quarter of a million others marched on Washington, DC and you told everyone about that dream of yours and how ‘Black children and white children would hold hands together’ in peaceful harmony as brothers and sisters??

Let me pose another question, “Dr. King, in your ‘I Have A Dream’ speech, you said, “It would be fatal for the nation to overlook the urgency of the moment. This sweltering summer of the Negro’s legitimate discontent will not pass until there is an invigorating autumn of freedom and equality. Nineteen sixty-three is not an end, but a beginning. Those who hope that the Negro needed to blow off steam and will now be content will have a rude awakening if the nation returns to business as usual. There will be neither rest nor tranquility in America until the Negro is granted his citizenship rights. The whirlwinds of revolt will continue to shake the foundations of our nation until the bright day of justice emerges.”

So, when do you think would be a good time to revolt? Before or after the next ‘walking while Negro’ incident, the next, ‘driving while Negro’ incident, the next dead for being a Negro’ incident? Please tell me Dr. King, just when is enough, enough?

Dr. King, you also stated, “We can never be satisfied as long as the Negro is the victim of the unspeakable horrors of police brutality.”

So, then, my question to you is, “When can the Negro forgo that non-violence stance that has not worked for us EVER and get with the program that things are not going to change with the continued printing of protest signs, the continued marching on tired feet and the continued calls for die-ins and marches?”

Dr. King, to these questions, I ask, “What say you?”

*crickets chirping*

“Thank you Dr. King! Your silence spoke more eloquently than did your ‘I Have A Dream’ speech because your non-violent, peaceful protesting stance did not get it done since your assassination is proof of that.”

There are so many Negroes that cannot speak because their blood flowed down every street in every city in every state in this hellhole called, AmeriKKKa and it will not stop if we simply print another sign, hold another rally, form another group and stage another die-in. There has not been enough ‘actual’ deaths? They’ll get around to killing you soon enough and so there is no need for you to rehearse for it!

Hundreds rally in Black Lives Matter Protest At State Fair

Police closed off Snelling Avenue so that protesters could march on the street. After leaving Hamline Park around 11:45 a.m, the march stopped briefly to block the intersection of West Minnehaha and Snelling avenues. Once it reached the Snelling overpass of Energy Park Drive, marchers lay down in a four-minute “die-in” to call to mind minorities who have been killed by police.

Please, by all means, let me know if something is actually accomplished because by now, who is NOT aware of the fact that so-called ‘minorities’ are being killed, relentlessly, by the police and by each other thanks in part to poverty, a school-to-prison pipeline, mass incarceration resulting in criminal records, massive under-employment and unemployment, income inequality and a myriad of other serious issues?

Time To Celebrate Black History Month…AGAIN!

They cannot celebrate Black History Month because they are history!

They cannot celebrate Black History Month because they are history!

Where shall we begin? Let us celebrate the 11% unemployment rate for Black men even though the national unemployment aka jobless rate stands at 5.9% and if your head’s not stuck up your ass, then you know that even that is a damn lie! Break out the champagne Black folks for those of you who can afford a bottle of say, Andre Cold Duck! Clink those plastic cups together and then piss in the wind because it’s all blowing back your way anyway; the shit that keeps hitting the fan, that is.

Next on our celebration list is the shit that is going down in our public education system better known as the ‘school-to-prison pipeline’ if you’re a student of color in these here United States of America where we celebrate Black History Month each and every February. This month is dedicated to showcasing the achievements of Black people in America. We are celebrating each and every single achievement that has not yet occurred but will eventually occur and we are real sure of this happening any day now.

To continue the celebrations, let us look at the child poverty statistics that are sure to impress us during these celebrations of future achievements that we are hell bent on celebrating this month. We are celebrating the fact that ‘child poverty in America is at its highest point in 20 years, putting millions of children at increased risk of injuries, infant mortality, and premature death’. And if that isn’t bad enough, ‘7 million kids still don’t have health insurance’. This is just so worth celebrating, what an achievement! What a dream as opposed to a nightmare. I wonder what that famous man who had a dream, would think of this. I seriously wonder.

But wait! There is more to celebrate this Black History Month! The good news just keeps on coming. ‘Incarceration rate for African-Americans now six times the national average’ is still making headlines among Black prisoners and their mostly white guards and the white slave patrol that arrested them for say, selling loose, untaxed cigarettes, selling marijuana or crack while completely ignoring the white man that was buying said crack and marijuana from the guilty by birth African-American other wise known as Colored otherwise known as Black otherwise known as felon or prisoner no.1,000,034. White folks, why don’t you just lock up every single Black person at birth? It’ll save you the trouble of doing so later on since many of us will know what it feels like to be shackled just as those we are descended from knew what it felt like. And the beat goes on and we celebrate it.

And ‘here’s the Data That Shows Cops Kill Black People at a Higher Rate Than White People’, now ain’t that a bitch?! Unfortunately, Michael Brown is not here to celebrate this Black History Month with us because he was shot and killed by a cop. Twelve year old Tamir Rice is also not here this year to help us celebrate because he was shot and killed by a cop while playing with a toy gun in a park. John Crawford, likewise, is not here to celebrate because he was shot and killed by a cop in Wal-Mart while holding a toy gun.  Eric Garner, unfortunately, for him, was selling loose, untaxed cigarettes and that cost him his life and so he will not be joining in the celebrations. Terrance Franklin was shot and killed by cops following a traffic stop and he will not be celebrating ether. Seven year-old Aiyana Stanley-Jones was shot  and killed by a cop while she slept and the charge of manslaughter against the cop that shot and killed her was dropped and so, she is not just ‘under-the-weather’, she is underground and therefore, is not able to celebrate this historic month. Let us celebrate on her behalf.

Fortunately, I have found yet another statistic that gives us even more of a reason to celebrate Black history month. Black families are seven times more likely to be homeless. We have come so far this February in the year of our Lord 2015, have we not? Blacks make up half of the U.S. homeless population. Doesn’t that just give you a warm and comfortable, cozy feeling that those homeless people lack? These are achievements that we have here folks! Time to celebrate and to keep the momentum going. Our ancestors would be so proud of where we are today. Don’t you think? Does this not make you aware that BLACK LIVES DO NOT MATTER?!

Now, on the other hand, Tyler Perry will dress up in drag and put some Black folks to work on another Madea movie and Beyoncé will croon about a Halo for Jay-Z and Jay-Z will rap about niggas while DMX will head back to prison for drug possession, get out on probation again and then go right back in for drug possession. Viola Davis will have no problem getting cast as yet another maid after her role in ‘The Help’ and Forest Whitaker is probably all set to play yet another version of someone’s Butler since every one is well aware that us Black folks are so good at bowing and scraping and being subservient to our ‘betters’.

Finally, I’ve given you many reasons to celebrate this month. The reasons are endless and our achievements that we will watch for some time in the future are making life much better for so many of us and that is why we must enjoy this Black History Month. We have no need to march and protest like those Black people in the 1960s did. We are so past that in this here post-racial America. I mean, what we have here is a post-racial America, is it not? But nevertheless, Dr. King would be so proud as would his stalwart, fellow marchers-in-arms at the progress that we have made since his infamous, I Have A Dream speech. We shall overcome! Uh…what I meant to say is that, “We did overcome!” Now like the good little sheep you are, start celebrating all of this shit!! And look ahead to when the REAL achievements will come because surely they must come!

The Dreamers

1963 march on washington

In a little over a week from today, government offices will close in honor of the Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., and his “I Have A Dream” speech will be played and his image will be displayed on television screens and all across the internet and we will once again, put on a pedestal this man who had a dream, a dream that was shared by millions who stood, marched, protested and died because ALL people should have equal rights under the law. And so, here we go again, another year of “I Have A Dream!” Another year of living a nightmare, nowhere near to a dream. So many sacrificed themselves and for what? Take a look around and again, I ask..for what?

And so, here’s to the ‘dreamers’….

He had a dream and like most dreams, they fade with the rising sun.
There were many who dreamed with him and they are but whispers in the wind.
Those who are left to carry on buried their torch and sold their legacy.
Their sacrifices were in vain as the book of dreams closed when they died.
Today, it pays to be a sell-out and not a dreamer, nor a sacrificial lamb.
The so-called Black leaders of today, crawl like dogs and beg at Massa’s table.
They don’t stand tall with the bearing of kings; today, they are weak.
Black men of today lack the qualities found in leaders; they’re not leaders, they are followers.
Their women are treated with contempt and disrespect and even hatred.
They’ve turned their backs on their little children and shunned them one and all.
From their mouths, they spew forth the foulness of the gutter.
They hate themselves and this does show when their pants sag to their ankles.
What education they received was from a prison in every United State.
Their money is from drug sells, bought and packaged by their government.
They are sold up and down plantation row and the bars are made of steel.
When they are put out on the streets, they are taught to rob and steal.
If they’re not caught up in the new slavery, they are rotting in a box.
Is this the dream that was dreamt so many years ago?
Did a sacrificial lamb envision this hell on earth that is without end?
What are ‘Al Sharp’con’ and ‘Jesse Jack’con’ doing about this nightmare that is no dream?
They are the dogs that crawl to corporations with hat in hand to pave their way to gold.
I hear tell of a Black man in the manse; it is the greatest lie that was ever told.
Yes, a man did have a dream as did so many, many others but his dream and theirs is but a whisper in the wind.
…and the flames of hatred, racism, injustice, brutality, slavery and barbarism light up the dreamer’s night.
There are no dreamers today, only schemers and liars and hypocrites and dogs who crawl to Massa!
Goodnight and sweet dreams Dr. King and to all the others who stood tall; Malcolm X, Fannie Lou Hamer, Bayard Rustin*, and A. Philip Randolph and to so many, many others as your dreams died with you and only hate and greed is our reality.

Black men in America, I dare you to go to the above link and take a look at how ‘MEN’ dressed. They are not unkempt and disheveled, pants down around their ankles, can hardly walk properly. If your ass was down around your ankles, then your pants would be made that way. Show some self-respect and get some dignity, even if you have to borrow some.

…and Black women, you don’t get off that easy. These ‘men’ are your sons and this is what you teach them? To go out in public with some jailhouse look about them? Where is their father? There was a time when Black women had more respect for themselves, for their bodies. What is wrong with you? And then some of us have the temerity to wonder why Black men fall right in with Massa’s plans for them. When they have no one in the home to look up to, who do you think they will emulate? Why do you think gangs and violence and drugs are prevalent in Black communities all across this country? Yes, I know there is poverty, but there was poverty back in the ’60s and yet, our grandmothers never dressed the way you do, they didn’t open their legs to every man who blinked at them. We’ve come a long way and we’ve come the wrong way. Take some of the responsibility for what you produce. A culture of Black men who impregnate women and then move on without a backward glance, on to the next. A perpetuating cycle that is destructive and we see the effects every single day. And then you will have the audacity to point to a picture of those who struggled during the Civil Rights Movement and exclaim over what they tried to accomplish and you will take pride in it. For what? Because there is nothing to be proud of today, that is for certain. With the majority of your sons behind the steel bars of slavery or out in the streets selling drugs, pimping and killing and making babies that may or may not even live to grow up and turn out to be just like some ‘daddy’ they won’t even know. Yes, we’ve come the ‘wrong’ way!

Another dreamer…..

A Poem For Black History Month About The Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day

Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

For Martin Luther King Jr., Day

People say we’ve come so far.
It all depends on who you are.

There’s been no other to fill your shoes.
Today, you’ll again make headline news.

Would you be pleased at what you see?
Is your dream a reality?

No, your dream is not alive! It crumbled into dust.
And all that’s left to show for it is just another bust.

The vibrant voice is stilled, mere echoes of the past.
Your dream did not live on, a net you tried to cast.

The battle rages on as hate will never rest.
And men who lack in courage will always fail the test.

Who rings the bell for freedom and human rights for all
while men cease to stand and to corporations crawl?

Who will ignite the spark and watch the fire burn?
And who will just sit back and say, “no, it’s not my turn?”

Will there ever be another Martin Luther King
who dreamed that one day, the freedom bell would ring?

“Let freedom ring! Let freedom ring!”
It’s still a dream, Dr. Martin Luther King.

And realize this, Barack Obama is ANTI everything that Dr. King died for. Dr. King would NOT stand in solidarity with Barack Obama. Do you honestly think that Dr. King would approve of drone strikes and the resulting deaths of innocent people when the target is surrounded by people who have done no wrong? Would Dr. King approve of indefinitely detaining people without due process and who have not been charged with a crime? Would Dr. King approve of torture and sending people who have a conscience, to jail for exposing lies, war crimes, hypocrisy and torture? Would Dr. King approve of the CIA training rebels in foreign lands to overthrow leaders who refuse to kowtow to U.S. demands? Would Dr. King approve of Barack Obama turning his back on the poor because that is exactly what Barack Obama is doing every single time he gives a speech emphasizing “work hard” as though people are not doing enough to get themselves employed when the jobs are just not there? Would Dr. King approve of Barack Obama continuing the Bush era bank bailouts that robbed the poor and gave to the rich who then gave themselves even more in the form of multimillion dollar bonuses? Would Dr. King have approved of the stupid reasons that Barack Obama gave for bombing Syria? Dr. King was well aware of the hypocrisy of the government of the United States. And Barack Obama perpetuates that hypocrisy every single time he opens up his mouth and another lie spews forth.

Black America, take your rose colored glasses off and take a really good look at Barack Obama. He is NOT the fulfillment or culmination of Dr. King’s dream. He is the absolute antithesis of everything Dr. King stood, marched, protested and died for. Dr. King would have shunned Barack Obama because he would have known that he is just another corporate lackey, a willing tool of his corporate masters and bought with blood money.

Just because Barack Obama is Black, does not make him right! And if your pastor or Reverend reveres Obama so much, ask him why. Ask your pastor if Chicago is any better off for having had Barack Obama as a citizen and a senator, not to mention, a community organizer. Ask your pastor why with the horrendous tallies of homicides in Chicago, did it take a school shooting in Newtown, CT before Obama shed a tear and called for gun reform. Ask your pastor why are the schools in inner cities all across America, woefully inadequate in educating Black children and instead of educating them have turned them into a pipeline from the classroom straight into the penitentiary even though Barack Obama is inside the White House. Ask him. Ask him why we have a Black Attorney General and yet over a million Black men are being incarcerated for decades for having been found with trace amounts of weed on them. Ask him why whites are not locked up when they are found with even more drugs on them than the many Blacks who are in prison on mandatory minimum sentencing guidelines. Ask him why with two Black men in powerful positions, is the Black unemployment rate still in the double digits and slavery better known as convict labor is practiced religiously in America today. Ask him!

Black America, it is time that you realized that you’ve been had! Accept it, deal with it and stop making excuses for and revering Barack Obama who is nothing more than Bush in Black face on steroids!
