Ho Hum! Another Mass Shooting By A White Man

stephen paddock

You know, this is becoming quite redundant and actually, I have not read one report, article or blog on this most recent mass shooting that occurred in Las Vegas. I only read several headlines since you cannot miss them if you tried.

From what I gather, another upset ‘white’ man went on a killing spree and shot up a bunch of people at some country music venue. Imagine that! And I am quite sure the usual tired talking points were expounded upon on channel after channel with reporters attempting to look as somber as possible while inwardly, they were all but shaking with glee to have something to report on other than the recent destruction of Puerto Rico by Hurricanes Irma and Maria. Puerto Rico, with your woes, step aside especially since Mr. Bankruptcy himself, President Donald Trump, has blamed the island nation for its woes claiming that, well…read it for yourself.

Donald J. Trump

@realDonaldTrump

Texas & Florida are doing great but Puerto Rico, which was already suffering from broken infrastructure & massive debt, is in deep trouble..

Puerto Rico is “suffering from broken infrastructure & massive debt?” Is he serious? The entire U.S. is “suffering from broken infrastructure & massive debt” and this fool wants to concentrate on that when the people of Puerto Rico are dealing with no food, water, access to electricity, telephones; the whole nine yards. Donald Trump is ALL heart! And please note the sarcasm.

But as usual, I digress. I chalk it up to getting older.

Back to the ‘disgruntled white mass murderer’. Let me guess! He was ‘mentally ill’. His mommy didn’t change his diapers often enough when he was a baby. His daddy walked out on them just when he needed a father figure the most. He was bullied in school. He could never get the pretty girls. He was a loner. His dog died and he became bereft and drifted about. He had loads of money and did not know what to do with all of it and so he bought himself an armload of eye candy who took him for everything he was worth and so he decided to take his anger out on others. Am I getting hotter?

But I am sure the media is not calling this ‘white’ man, a terrorist or a thug. Oh! No way! Those designations are for Muslims and Blacks. This man just needed some meds and some counseling and he’d of never done this deed. I am also guessing that he’s dead and so no explanation is to be forthcoming from him and the news is ripe with speculation and innuendo. Every CNN reporter, MSNBC reporter, ABC, NBC, CBS and so forth and so on are going on and on about this poor man’s mental state at the time of this mass shooting. “Oh what terrible, horrible life this man must have led to lead him to do something of this nature!” We have got to do something about the lack of available slots for the mentally ill!” “We need more background checks…yep…background checks would have stopped this!” Sigh!

For the love of !!! Give me a damn break! No amount of background checks in the world would have stopped this mass shooting just as it will not stop the next and the next. There are so many guns in the hands of Americans that there is just no way to disarm the people of this country. The NRA will not stand for it. And there will be shouts that by disarming ‘mentally stable’, law-abiding Americans this will cause only criminals to have access to guns. We’ve heard it all before and we shall hear it again. But you know what? I’m not one bit upset by this most recent mass shooting because I am still reeling from the murder of Trayvon Martin, Renisha McBride, Aiyana Mo’nay Stanley-Jones,  Sandra Bland, Walter Scott, John Crawford, Philando Castile, Freddie Gray, Keith  Childress, Bettie Jones, Kevin Matthews, Michael Noel, Leroy Browning, Roy Nelson, Miguel Espinal, Nathaniel Pickett, Tiara Thomas, Cornelius Brown, Jamar Clark, Richard Perkins, Michael Lee Marshall, Alonzo Smith, Anthony Ashford, Dominic Hutchinson, Lamontez Jones, Rayshaun Cole, Paterson Brown, Christopher Kimble, Junior Prosper, Keith McLeod, Wayne Wheeler, Lavante Biggs, India Kager, Tyree Crawford, James Carney III, Felix Kumi, Asshams Manley, Christian Taylor, Troy Robinson, Brian Day, Michael Sabbie, Billy Ray Davis, Samuel Dubose, Darrius Stewart, Albert Davis, Salvado Ellswood, George Mann, Jonathan Sanders, Freddie Blue, Victo Larosa III, Spencer McCain, Kevin Bajoie, Zamiel Crawford, Jermaine Benjamin, Kris Jackson, Kevin Higgenbotham, Ross Anthony, Richard Gregory Davis, Curtis Jordan, Markus Clark, Lorenzo Hayes, De’Angelo Stallworth, Dajuan Graham, Brandon Glenn, Reginald Moore, Nuwnah Laroche, Jason Champion, Bryan Overstreet, David Felix, Terry Lee Chatman, William Chapman, Samuel Harrell and the list is endless. These Black people were killed by KKKops and they were unarmed, some of them were mentally ill and posed no threat to anyone, some were killed by police who were engaged in high speed chases which had nothing to do with who they killed and not one KKKop that murdered any of the aforementioned has been charged with a crime but I am quite sure that ALL mainstream media reporters have now jumped on the KKKops aka ‘first responders bandwagon, praising them to the high heavens for rushing to the scene of this mass shooting. But what mainstream media reporter has given any attention to these people who were murdered? HA! That’ll be the day! This is mass murder. Oh indeed, it is! But you see, mass murder of Black people by racist KKKops is just business as usual. Nothing to see here. Move along.

But now that we’ve come to Mr. Misunderstood Mentally Ill Affluenza, well we’ve just got to make excuses for his heinous crime. It is not his fault. He is a victim of ‘white privilege’ and us Black folks had just best be glad that we don’t suffer the effects of this most serious of privileged afflictions. No, I will not be getting out the purple crepe and the black armbands, nor will I offer up any stupid, useless ‘prayers’ because so long as ‘whites’ continue to worship their guns even as they sit up in church with them strapped to their side, mass murder of ‘innocent’ people will continue and don’t they know it. You people are so deranged and depraved that you don’t even care that you’re probably next. You’ve got your gun strapped to your hip and you’re badass. No, you’re not! You’re stupid! And you’re a fool if you believe that that gun will protect you because you’ll be hit when you least expect it, just like the 59 who got whacked by a murdering, privileged ‘white’ terrorist. When have I ever tread lightly for your sake? It hasn’t happened and don’t hold your breath waiting for me to do so for if you do, you’ll be just as dead as those 59 country music concert goers in Las Vegas; Sin City. Go figure! And while you’re at it, figure out that you will die by that which you so love, your damn guns! Oh, and before I forget, I hear tell that you now want guns with silencers. I sincerely hope you get your wish, silenced!

Frustrated!

Frustrated24Many times I have wanted to call it quits with regards to doing this ‘blogging’ thing and many times I have decided to forge ahead, to continue. Even though, like many, frustration kicks in because you put so much effort in before you click that ‘publish’ button. Some will get a few ‘likes’ and maybe even a comment or two and you think to yourself, “why did I go through all of the effort to research, to type and to find relevant images to display?” “Why has no one enjoyed the epiphany that I have experienced? Don’t they see what I see and if they do, then why have they not acted upon it? I’ve given them all the data they need in which to do what needs to be done.” Now, therein lies the problem. Do what? What can they do? What am I doing? I have been over this forwards, backwards, sideways, upside and down and there is just nothing that can be done to solve a multitude of the problems and issues that many face on a daily basis.

There will be no savior to sort this out for us. There will be no one person who will stand above the crowd and ‘fix it’. There will be no second coming of Christ, for those of you who believe in the first coming of Christ. We go on each day until there is no ‘next’ day. We open our eyes. We get out of bed and we do what we have to do to survive. This has been going on for centuries and it will continue until either we fuck this planet up to the point where it expels us all or we drop dead. GMO foods may kill us, a drone may kill us, or a vehicle accident may kill us, but either way, we will be just as dead. There is no way that we can fight every single battle there is. We are human and we are weak and fallible and the human body is going to seek sustenance over spirituality when push comes to shove. We can think that we have all the inherent goodness in the world, but if it came down to sacrificing ourselves in some way(I don’t know quite how) for the good of the many, what would you do? What sacrifice is worth it? What would be the point? What would change? History has shown us that even those who are held in high esteem, the ones who are in the history books for effecting change, what good did it do them? They sacrificed themselves to make people aware of the suffering and injustices perpetrated on others and look at where we are now? Not just here in America, but all over the world. What good did it do for the Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., to step out of his comfort zone and get assassinated for his efforts when the Supreme Court just dealt a blow to all that he and others marched and protested, got arrested and brutalized for? What good does it do to quote Gandhi? What good does it do to quote Mother Teresa? What good does it do to quote Malcolm X? George Orwell? Or any other ‘visionaries’ who tried to warn us of where we were headed.

Yes, some people have awakened, took a look around and said, “we’re fucked!” But what else can they do? If they have not the money to build affordable homes for the poor, if they have not the money to purchase land to grow food for the hungry, if they have not the money to pay the medical bills of the uninsured or money to simply put to good use and help as opposed to aiding in destruction, then there is nothing that they can do except to try to not contribute to the problem. There are so many so-called faith based charities that are nothing more than tax exempt corporations who are not helping the poor, they are not mitigating the consequences resulting from a lack of housing, food and health care. They are in the business of lining their pockets with one hand and preaching bullshit on the other. It is hypocrisy. That is all I see when I look around, hypocrisy in the guise of charities and government officials who grandstand to win votes and then disregard their constituents needs and instead, sell themselves to the highest corporate bidder for their own selfish agenda. Self is another key word of today. Selfish, self-fulfillment, self-serving, self-centered, self indulgent, self-satisfying, self, self and self. It is all about ME, well isn’t it? If not, who is it about? Is it about YOU? What can I do for you? What can you do for me? You scratch my back and I will scratch yours. That is the mindset of today.

Why do you think that when the holidays approach, people will gladly line up and stand in freezing, below average temperatures and trample each other over what is considered to be an unbeatable bargain? Why are they like that? Why is it that they can somehow find the time to pitch a tent for a week or more in a store parking lot to grab that huge TV, but when it comes to lining up to protest against homelessness, hunger, lack of medical care, there are a few stragglers wandering around with signs while people pass by them in vehicles yelling at them to “get a job!?” No one yells at those who are lined up to buy the latest Apple product to, “get a job!” The emphasis is placed on materialism to the exclusion of all else. If you don’t have it, you’re a loser. There are going to be winners, but there are going to be so many more losers and the winners have the microphone. The winners own the papers, the media and they feed us Kim Kardashian and Justin Bieber and Rihanna and we eat it up. When Kate Middleton or Michele Obama struts an outfit, there is a stampede to purchase said outfit. That is what is important? No, but it is to those who have been programmed by the people who control the media and who shove down their throat what is important.

So, just because we have not joined forces and somehow stopped a world takeover does not mean that all of us are simply sitting around awaiting the latest chapter on Tim Tebow, it is just that we are all limited in what we can do. I can volunteer. I can advocate on behalf of those who are suffering. I can even sometimes help house a homeless person. I can continue to keep the issues in the forefront. It does not matter if I never get a ‘like’ or a following. If I am talking to myself, so be it. The fact that I am sharing my thoughts, sharing what is important to me, sharing my frustration at the status quo may be all that I can do because I see no other way to get my two cents in, but I will not point the finger at another and say, “you are not doing enough.” I know not what they are dealing with and so I will concentrate on what I am dealing with and hope that I can somehow find it in me to help someone else, even if it is only one person. I cannot change the world. I can only say to the world, “we’re fucked!”

Why No Serious Main Stream Media Coverage of the Bradley Manning Trial?

Bradley Manning is not who should be on trial. That is crystal clear!
Bradley Manning is not who should be on trial. That is crystal clear!

Actually, I am not surprised that Bradley Manning is getting no press. The U.S. government does not want us to concentrate on Bradley Manning. Maybe, it is because of this:
In 2009 the American ambassador to Tunisia spent the evening at the home of Mohamed Sakher el-Materi, the president’s son-in-law. By any standards the dinner was lavish – yogurt and ice cream were flown in from St Tropez – and the home was opulent. In a cable, made public by WikiLeaks, the diplomat wrote: “The house was recently renovated and includes an infinity pool … there are ancient artefacts everywhere: Roman columns, frescos and even a lion’s head from which water pours into the pool. Materi insisted the pieces are real.” By Tunisian standards it was particularly obscene. El-Materi owned a tiger and fed it four chickens a day.

“With Tunisians facing rising inflation and high unemployment, the conspicuous displays of wealth and persistent rumours of corruption have added fuel to the fire.” (This certainly sounds familiar.)But the US continued to back the Tunisian president anyway, considering him a reliable ally against terrorism and preferring a dependable dictatorship to an unpredictable democracy. Until, of course, a couple months after the WikiLeaks revelations, Tunisians rose up and ejected him, unleashing a wave of revolutions in the region.

The dispatches revealed details of corruption and kleptocracy that many Tunisians suspected, but could not prove, and would cite as they took to the streets. They also exposed the blatant discrepancy between the west’s professed values and actual foreign policies. Having lectured the Arab world about democracy for years, its collusion in suppressing freedom was undeniable as protesters were met by weaponry and tear gas made in the west, employed by a military trained by westerners.

At the time Manning released the diplomatic cables and military reports he wrote: “I want people to see the truth … regardless of who they are. Because without information, you cannot make informed decisions as a public.” He hoped by releasing the cables he would spark “worldwide discussion, debates, and reforms”.

If the leaks laid bare the hypocritical claim that the US was exporting democracy, then the nature of his incarceration and prosecution illustrate the fallacy of its insistence that it is protecting both freedom and security at home. Manning’s treatment since his arrest in May 2010 has involved a number of serious human rights violations.

A video that soon went viral showing two Reuters employees, among others, being shot dead by a US Apache helicopter in Iraq. They were among a dozen or so people milling around near an area where US troops had been exposed to small arms fire. The soldiers, believing the camera to be a weapon, opened fire, leaving several dead and some wounded.

Look at those dead bastards,” says one pilot. “Nice,” says the other. When a van comes to pick up the wounded they shoot at that too, wounding two children inside. “Well, it’s their fault for bringing their kids into a battle,” one of the pilots says.

An investigation exonerated the soldiers on the grounds that they couldn’t have known who they were shooting. No disciplinary action was taken.

“This shit that killed those people do not represent me. I am not a flag waving, troops loving, mindless drone who will run around thanking our ‘service men and women’ for killing people who have done no harm against the U.S.” Bradley Manning has more compassion, empathy, sympathy, ethics, decency and morality than those ‘hooligans’ will ever want. The likes of them is what the U.S. government wants, not the likes of Bradley Manning. It is a sin and a shame that Bradley Manning is the one on trial and not those soulless cowards who shot innocent people with no consideration at all. Those of us who live in the U.S. have much to answer for because we go blindly on our way, seeking our pleasures and giving not a thought nor a care to what is being done in our name. We are just as guilty as those bastards who shot those innocent people! Never doubt it for a minute!

Private Manning has been subjected to torture, stripped naked every night and forced to remain in a 6ft by 8ft cell in solitary confinement for leaking the truth about what the U.S. government not only condones, but actually encourages. If exposing our dirty, filthy and depraved actions warrants a life sentence, then lock me the hell up because I too, would have exposed them! Nor would I don a uniform, grab a gun and defend this country against no enemy of mine! You want the dirty work done, then drag your ass out of the Oval Office, out of the chambers of the Senate and the House and dirty your goddamn hands, but you don’t have to because you’ve got plenty who are willing to stand up and do your dirty work for you. Count me the hell out, you pack of depraved lying, hypocritical cowards!

Private Manning, I salute you and thank you for exposing to me, the hypocrisy and the lies, the torture and the killing done in my name! I am not complicit in that shit!
