Malcolm X, How We Need You!

Malcolmx3

Malcolm X, how we need you.
The movement now is dead,
and the slaves are in the pen.
Black power has all but fled.

What’s left are Uncle Toms,
and coons that play the fool.
They bow down before ole Massa,
and for his scraps, they all but drool.

There is none throughout this land
that can spit your fire and truth.
And the sad fact of the matter is,
we refuse to protect our youth.

With a half and half in the White House,
the movement is tagged and bagged.
And with bootlicking in the halls of justice,
the Black man’s voice is bound and gagged.

They all stand idly by,
and watch their numbers dwindle.
There is no man among these men,
that could a movement, kindle.

They look around and wait,
for a savior to light the way.
And when they’re shot or sent to jail,
they just stare in mute dismay.

Oh Malcolm X, we know you’re gone,
and we will never see your like.
Today, our men tremble in fear,
while the militants are out on strike.

“Any time Uncle Sam, with all his machinery for warfare, is held to a draw by some rice eaters, he’s lost the battle. He had to sign a truce. America’s not supposed to sign a truce. She’s supposed to be bad. But she’s not bad any more. She’s bad as long as she can use her hydrogen bomb, but she can’t use hers for fear Russia might use hers. Russia can’t use hers, for fear that Sam might use his. So, both of them are weapon-less. They can’t use the weapon because each [country’s] weapon nullifies the other’s. So the only place where action can take place is on the ground. And the white man can’t win another war fighting on the ground. Those days are over. The black man knows it, the brown man knows it, the red man knows it, and the yellow man knows it. So they engage him in guerrilla warfare. That’s not his style. You’ve got to have heart to be a guerrilla warrior, and he hasn’t got any heart.”

“It takes heart to be a guerrilla warrior because you’re on your own. In conventional warfare you have tanks and a whole lot of other people with you to back you up—planes over your head and all that kind of stuff. But a guerrilla is on his own. All you have is a rifle, some sneakers and a bowl of rice, and that’s all you need—and a lot of heart.”

– Malcolm X

And ‘heart’ is exactly what we are losing even though we know that America ain’t about shit when it comes to hand-to-hand combat and that is why drones were invented because whites can’t fight up close and personal and win. And even with using drones, ISIS is still kicking ass and will continue to do so while Black bodies pile up at the morgue in America and Black women will continue to moan and wail over the demise of their sons and daughters. We don’t have what it takes and now, we never will. We should be fucking shit up over here but all we do is raise our hands in the air and march down the goddamn street begging some white motherfucker to give us the same goddamn rights that are afforded to the whites by the Constitution. So, do you still think that the Constitution and the Bill of Rights pertain to you, Black man and Black woman? And since they don’t apply to you, they sure as hell don’t apply to your children. But go ahead! Sign up to go and fuck with ISIS or fuck up the Iraqi people some more and continue to disturb the goddamn peace in Afghanistan and if they send your ass to Libya, you’re in for it ’cause it’s off the goddamn chain, thanks to the good ole red, white and blue and bully NATO.

You are marching because some white motherfucker shot and killed your son or daughter because the whites are afraid of you. That is why they don’t bother to get up close and personal, they just shoot you from 300 yards away. That is why police departments all across this shithole have requested and received militarized weaponry from warzones because they want to launch a grenade all up your ass from miles away. Next, they’re going to be drone striking your ass because that’s what the whites are doing to every other Black and Brown body all across this planet. Malcolm X warned you in ways too numerous to count and when he died, all of his fire and spirit and truth and action died and was buried with him and now, we just quote him and protest and march against the next murder of one of our own by racist ass cops. That’ll show ’em!

Black History Holds No Fame

black history month

Dragged from your native land,
on a floating barge of death.
You built paradise for a thief
who then plundered all the wealth.

Your name was not your own.
You would never again be free.
To know such hate from them,
as they hung you from a tree.

They say that slavery’s over.
Go forth and earn your keep.
And though you labor long,
you’re valued much too cheap.

You were denied so many rights.
And the vote was not for you.
Though many marched and died,
the court bid that adieu.*

Some think you’ve made great strides
in the face of all that’s wrong.
Yet they herd you into prison,
because they hate that you are strong.

Be wary of their smiles,
for they mean you so much harm.
If you’ve a talent, they’ll exploit it.
All over you, they’ll swarm.

They’ll use you and they’ll kill you.
You’re nothing but a thing,
and when your candle’s burned
you’ll feel ole Massa’s sting.

Don’t ever let your guard down,
and it doesn’t pay to trust.
Shield from them your weakness.
Always show them your disgust.

Black history holds no fame.
And it certainly gets no cheer.
Times have never changed.
They still look at you and sneer.

*June 25th 2013, the U.S. Supreme Court overturned a key provision of the Voting Rights Act, removing a critical tool to combat racial discrimination in voting.

Black History Month, eh? What’s to celebrate? Double digit unemployment in every Black community all across this rotten ass country. The Black people who aren’t getting their brains bashed in playing football or who aren’t rapping about thugs and hos are receiving wages that wouldn’t keep a hamster in food. Public Education in inner cities is shameful and woefully inadequate, to put it mildly, in preparing Black children for this high tech society we live in. Black children are being herded from the classroom straight into the penitentiary and they haven’t a prayer of making it out of the nightmare of poverty, hopelessness, gangs, violence and despair.

But we’re celebrating some goddamn bullshit! The Civil Rights Movement? We haven’t moved. The ‘white only’ entrances and water fountains are still there and so are the ‘colored only’. Now, it’s called affluenza and povertenza. Keep the poverty stricken Black people away from the affluent. Gate those communities, build high-end developments. Those poor Black people can’t afford that. Hinder their education. Keep them ignorant. It worked back in the day and if it works, why fix it if it ain’t broke?

There is not one damn thing to celebrate. Yes, Rosa Parks refused to relinquish her seat. Good on her! The Reverend Dr. King and all the others marched and protested and had dogs let loose on them and were sprayed by high powered water hoses and for what? So that the ever so helpful Supreme Court could just come along and gut THAT shit! Oh, yes! Let the goddamn celebrations begin!!!! Again I say, fuck THAT shit!!!

Another Young Black Male Dead, Another Protest Rally to Attend

What: We Are Terrance Franklin Solidarity Rally/March When: Saturday, August 17th at 1:00p.m. Where: Downtown Minneapolis Hennepin County Government Center Why: Another ridiculous excuse for the killing of another young Black male by the police

What: We Are Terrance Franklin Solidarity Rally/March
When: Saturday, August 17th at 1:00p.m.
Where: Downtown Minneapolis Hennepin County Government Center
Why: Another ridiculous excuse for the killing of another young Black male by the police

On May 10th, Terrance Franklin was shot to death by Minneapolis police after allegedly fleeing from a traffic stop and breaking into a house to get away from the police. Somehow, in the ensuing melee, the police claim that Terrance Franklin grabbed an officer’s gun, fired two shots hitting two officers in the leg and all the while, a police dog was restraining him and even though he was surrounded by police, at the same time, Mr. Franklin was also being shot in the back of his head five times and twice in the back.

That just makes too much sense for me to even believe.

According to the family of the victim, the police did not let them view their son’s body, nor did they give them any answers as to what really occurred. The information that Terrance Franklin was shot five times in the head and twice in the back was leaked and no one from the police department claimed responsibility for the leaked information. Meanwhile, the attorney hired by the family to seek answers, was given a video recording of the events captured after the shooting in which it has been stated that racial slurs can be heard being uttered by the police officers surrounding the scene.

Again, we have another cover-up of excessive force by ‘the force’ against yet another young Black man. This is prevalent all across America. If you take a look at the law suits that have been settled, you will find the majority are the result of police brutality against young Black men. Below is one among thousands.

Fired Minneapolis cop, now with St. Paul, accused of excessive force again

A former Minneapolis police officer, the subject of a lawsuit in the 1990s that the city settled for $500,000, is now a St. Paul police sergeant and again accused of excessive force.

A 32-year-old man alleges in a federal lawsuit that he was left with a broken jaw and fractured vertebrae after an encounter with St. Paul officers Paul Cottingham and Craig Rhode.

Here’s another one.

City to pay out $3 million for death in police misconduct lawsuit|MPLS.|StarTribune.com http://www.startribune.com/local/blogs/208860951.html

The Minneapolis City Council approved a $3.075 million settlement on Friday to resolve a federal lawsuit filed by the family of David Smith, a 28-year old Minneapolis man who was killed during a struggle with two police officers at a downtown Minneapolis YMCA in 2010.

The death of Smith raised questions about putting a suspect on his stomach, and holding him down by putting knees on his back, known as prone restraint. The Hennepin County Medical Examiner ruled the death a homicide.

We, the citizens of these cities, are paying the price of racism and police brutality that is rampant in police departments all across America because it is our tax dollars that are paying for the settlement of these cases. And yes, I do realize that it is not just young Black men who are victims of police brutality(see:https://shelbycourtland.wordpress.com/2013/02/23/americas-corrupt-and-brutal-police-force.com…) however, Black males are a ‘minority’ in America but they make up the ‘majority’ of victims of police brutality and murder by police and a majority in incarceration rates.

Finally, let me ask this question AGAIN!!!!! Why the hell are we here(in America)? So then I ask, just what the hell is YOUR problem with us????!!! How simple can I make this? Those of us who are descendants of African slaves did not come to America, willingly. We are here through NO fault of our own. Our historical past with this country is not OUR fault and I for one am sick and damn tired of people of my complexion getting the shit knocked out of us for having the audacity to be descended from people who were DRAGGED over here to become slaves!! So because of your racism and your vicious hate, another young Black man is dead and I am attending yet another protest rally. Goddamn it to hell!! Even if this young man was guilty of a traffic stop violation and he chose to run, getting shot by the police five times in the back of the head and twice in the back is not justified. It is extreme deadly force, to say the least. And again, there are no answers(no believable answers), there are only questions, remaining unanswered.

Taken from: “Oh Child of Mine”

Oh child of mine, what have they done?
My baby was killed, you murdered my son.

With a broken heart, I search for answers.
There are none, just lots of questions.

There is so much wrong every where and I cannot be every where at once to speak out, but I will be speaking out tomorrow in downtown Minneapolis. And here we go again!

A protest rally and march was held in downtown Minneapolis this evening for Trayvon Martin. I will let the pictures speak for themselves.

Taking A Stand!
We stood and marched tonight.
We stood for what is right.
We’ll keep the pressure on.
Our fight is never won.
As long as I am Black,
there’s something I must lack.
A white skin, I can’t claim.
That’s not to be my fame.
Still, no one should gun me down,
just because my skin is brown.
Then get to walk away
into the light of day.
No jail time will he serve.
Oh yes, that strikes a nerve.
I’ll not take this anymore.
My heart is raw and sore.
To know I have no rights.
When the teeth of hate still bites.
