Violent or Peaceful Protest? — Levine Lowdown

Violent protest or peaceful protest? This question has been challenged for centuries, and still, people argue and disagree over the most effective way to protest. The recent black lives matter protests around the world following the death of George Floyd highlighted the tension between two sides of protestors. As one side destroyed all objects in […]

via Violent or Peaceful Protest? — Levine Lowdown

First of all, I did what I said I’d never do; I got into it with another blogger on their blog. But in this instance, I must have been too weak to help myself because I have had it with foreigners who sit somewhere in another country and have the nerve to pretend as though they know of our experience here in Amerikkka.

The author of this particular blog lives in Australia. And I should have known right off the bat, that any white Australian speaking on protests going on in the U.S. would take exception because in all reality, the Aborigines should be protesting to get those Botany Bay Penal Colony convict rejects from out of their country.

The whites are always going to go on and on about how peaceful protesting is the means to an end; yeah, our end. Just ask Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., how well that peaceful protesting worked out for him. He was felled by an assassin’s bullet thanks to Dr. King peacefully protesting which seemed to have lit a spark in the whites who had him murdered for going about things all peaceful like.

Here is my first comment on the article in question:

During the Civil Rights Movement, peaceful protesters were met with violence from ‘the state’, meaning the federal government and on the local level. You don’t remember seeing pictures of hoses and dogs being sicced on peaceful Black protesters? Those people were then jailed for their peaceful protesting. So, why is it okay for the federal government to act violently towards peaceful protesters, but yet, you seem to take umbrage with protesters who turn violent since ‘peaceful’ protesting doesn’t work either? So why don’t you ask Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., how well peaceful protesting worked out for him. It was ‘peaceful protesting’ that got him an assassin’s bullet.

We have tried it both ways and neither works. The fact of the matter is that American descendants of slavery are damned if we do and damned if we don’t.

I lived in Minneapolis, MN for over a decade and I can tell you that what burned down was NOT owned by American descendants of slavery. Where the majority of the riots occurred is an area known to have a high concentration of immigrants from Mexico, Asia and Africa. One or two stores may have been owned by American descendants of slavery and I know this for a fact because I was in Minneapolis just as recently as this past November. And so I get so sick and tired of people going on and on about how Black people are burning down their own neighborhoods. We don’t own any neighborhoods. We don’t own multiple stores; grocery stores, banks, department stores, etc., and I am sure that you know this.

Until whites want to tear down the system of white supremacy from which they benefit, nothing that Black people do, be it peacefully or non-peacefully is going to make a bit of difference. And I do believe you know this already.

To which the blog’s author responded with:

Yes, MLK was assassinated. But, it was his peaceful protesting that resulting in 4 legislative changes and the introduction of the civil rights act in 1968. Malcom X was not responsible for any legislative change.

I’m not saying that the businesses that were destroyed were necessarily owned by African Americans. However, many African Americans died during the protest not by the police, some businesses were destroyed as you have noted. This whole process is about reconciliation, we in Australia are going through the exact same thing. It’s about reconciling with those who were first, violence is contrary to the action of reconciliation.

You sound defeated. I find that disappointing. We have just witnessed 4 straight weeks of MILLIONS of people around the world leaving their normal life behind to fight for equality. People have abandoned their social media image which society asks them to create, and instead have turned to activism. We have witnessed the power of people to charge more police officers. This is a time of hope that needs to be sustained, I don’t think we should be defeated.

And of course, I took it from there!

Again, I have to disagree with you. Nothing Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., and crew did, amounted to anything. The Supreme Court gutted key provisions of the Voting Rights Act which is what Dr. King fought so hard for; Black people to have the right to vote and an end to Jim Crow. Many Black people are being denied the right to vote. You haven’t heard of gerrymandering? And Jim Crow never ended, it just morphed into a different way of keeping Black people from entering certain areas of town and certain restaurants, etc. Whites started building ‘gated communities’ and now we have gentrification. And so AGAIN, nothing was accomplished. I am in the states and so I know, first hand what is going down and what has been going down for my over 40 years on this planet.

And the only reason MILLIONS of people are somewhere protesting or whatever they want to call it is not because of some ‘awakening’ but because they are unemployed thanks to COVID-19, have been on lockdown for months and have had it. This was just the perfect storm of mess that coincided. You give people too much credit where none is due. I’m a realist. I see the reality of the situation while you want to believe in ‘hope and change’. We thought we had that with Barack Obama and that got us what? Donald Trump! I rest my case.

Now, I thought that we were finished, but apparently not because the author of the blog responded with this:

Thank you for sharing your thoughts. I will never completely understand your oppression and struggles but I will continue to listen and try to learn. I am interested however in your statement that MLK didn’t do anything. Who do you think was responsible for the civil rights act 1968?

I disagree with you on this point completely. You are saying that millions of people were protesting just because they are sick of being in their homes? That explains nothing. That doesn’t explain the emotion on these people’s faces. That doesn’t explain the passion that led some to violence. That doesn’t explain the images of people joining together as one. Sure, maybe a few just wanted to get outside, but this was a huge movement of people joining together. I’m a realist aswell. I don’t think this is all going to fix itself in 5, 10 or 20 years. But, I am an optimistic realist, I think over time change can occur. Barack Obama wasn’t successful because he didn’t have full control of America’s politics. If Joe Biden also has support in the Senate, powerful change can always occur if it is supported by appropriate services.

Apparently, I could not let that stand and so replied:

You seriously lack knowledge of America’s political system. For his first two years in office, Barack Obama could have gotten much completed since both the Senate and the House were in the hands of the Democrats. Nothing got done. It was only after that control had shifted to the Republicans is when Obama claimed to have been stalled when attempting to get anything done.

And just what did the Civil Rights Act of 1968 accomplish? Because when you look at where Black people are today, that Act did nothing. Black people are the poster children for the faces of poverty, gentrification, homelessness, mass incarceration, income inequality, illiteracy, victims of police brutality and the list of the like is endless. An Act does nothing when the same mindset is still there and the same mindset of the whites in 1968 is still very much in evidence today.

And I know that you did not go there with regards to Joe Biden when he is mostly responsible for why American descendants of slavery are overly represented in prisons all across America due to his 1994 Crime Bill. He’s been on an ‘apology tour’ about that. You seriously need to educate yourself before speaking on issues here in America.

And we still weren’t through! His response was:

I’m disappointed this discussion had to go down this route. I thought we were debating some really interesting points and it was very insightful. However, I will not continue if we go down the persona attack route because that has no purpose.

Regardless, sorry I did not know that the first 2 years of Obama’s Presidency he had control of both the Senate and the House. I made the mistake of assuming his second term was the same as his first term. What do you think needs to be done as the first step and then possibly subsequent steps?

I wasn’t talking about the effectiveness of the act, but rather the role of MLK in creating the act. As I’ve said, legislation is only effective when it is supported by services that ensure accountability, enforcement and education.

I do know about the 1994 Crime Bill. I have researched it heavily and understand Biden’s negative impact. My point was that the two options are Trump or Biden. Clearly Trump isn’t going to achieve anything in this area other than take us backwards. If Biden can pass legislation there is a chance change could occur due to his very progressive agenda.

And even then, I could not let him get away with that!

Biden doesn’t have ANY agenda. The man is senile. If you even look at any of his political ads, the man is actually stumbling over his words. His nickname is “Slow Joe.” No one takes him seriously. He is NOT the person to beat Trump. With Joe Biden as the only alternative, Trump is a shoe-in. That is a fact. The Democrats don’t care about winning this election because they stand for exactly what Trump stands for. There is no difference between the Democrats and the Republicans. There is no longer any illusion of that.

Have you never stopped to wonder why Black Americans fare so poorly regardless of whether a Democrat or a Republican is at the helm? It is because there is no difference between them. Biden is not progressive and the only reason he was picked as the choice for the Democrats is based off of Biden’s position as Obama’s VP. That is all the Democrats are throwing at Trump. Someone who mumbles, is incoherent, has been groping females for decades and was Obama’s VP. Only older voters are even thinking about Biden as most of the rest of us are sighing and throwing our hands up because there is nothing to vote for.

Most of us are already preparing for the FACT that Trump is going to get re-elected. He has nothing standing in his way. And in fact, if you want to give anyone credit for what’s going down today, give it to Trump. He has made so many whites unhappy since they are also unemployed, hungry and broke, that they are expressing that anger towards Trump. But make no mistake, Trump’s base is still solidly behind him since racism is alive and kicking in Amerikkka and always will be.

Folks, we have got so many Monday morning quarterbacks, it’s ridiculous. How is someone over in Australia going to tell Black people what we need to do in so far as how we go about protesting especially when their shit reeks to the stars and back? Those descendants of convict rejects are sitting somewhere on their pasty asses talking about how peaceful our asses should be when they did not ‘peacefully’ take the land away from the Aborigines and quite frankly, to this very day, treat those people like shit! But yet, this piece of shit Botany Bay Penal Colony reject wants to get all offended when I push back on his attempts to tell us what to do here in Amerikkka. I don’t give a fuck about being polite when someone is speaking on a subject they obviously have no knowledge of whatsoever.

And I don’t even know what he meant by this!

However, I will not continue if we go down the persona attack route because that has no purpose.

How in the hell did I personally attack him? The TRUTH attacked him? Because that’s the only thing I threw at him. Not once did I cuss, throw a fit or even flip out and yet, I still get, “the persona attack route.” What the hell? Dude couldn’t handle what was coming at him, that is quite obvious and so then resorted to lying about ‘personal attacks’. For the love of !! That’s a white person for you! When they can’t best you, they claim you’ve ‘personally attacked’ them, WITH WORDS! For the love of !!!!!

As I have already stated, we have tried IT.ALL. And nothing has worked for us; not peaceful protesting, not violent protesting and this is because the system of white supremacy is going to make sure that ANY protests are going to be met with violence from the government. But it seems that according to some piece of shit over in Australia, the violence displayed by the government is nothing next to some burned out taco trucks and a fire in Target. We should just continue to love dying at the hands of the KKK that makes up police departments all across Amerikkka because some piece of shit in Australia believes everything would be okay if only we peacefully protest and vote in Joe Biden as the next president. Seriously???!!!

It is quite obviously time for me to go back to reading fluff and nonsense. The next book, that I’m getting out now, is Lady Audley’s Secret by Mary Elizabeth Braddon.

But first, this is for ‘Australian dude’.

Now figure that one out!

Years Ago….!

tree with rope

Years ago, they put a noose
around our necks for sure.
And now, they just shoot us,
They say our blood ain’t blue and pure.

Years ago, they came to see him,
while he was working in the field.
They told him his blood was bad.
Before I knew it, my man was killed.

Years ago, they said, “You’re free!”
Then they posted a sign instead.
I drank from a ‘colored only’ fountain,
slept in a ‘colored only’ motel bed.

I don’t see that sign no mo.
They hid it with a law.
They said, “No more segregation.”
But segregation was all I saw.

Slavery, it won’t no fun.
and Jim Crow was no joke.
But when King spoke on his dream
I said, “You know you ’bout to croak!”

Now, I sit on this ole stoop,
and I watch drug deals go down.
Don’t nobody want to hear from me,
I’m too old to wear a martyr’s crown.

But if you want a little advice,
live each moment like it’s your last.
Don’t expect too much from life
and you cannot change the past.

Put Down Those Weapons Of War!

weapons of war

You may be able to kill the messenger,
but his message will live on.
When the masses finally awaken,
there will be a brand new dawn.

For some, hope has all but fled.
They see no way to win.
Victory looks too far away
and fear is in the hearts of men.

Throw off your yoke of oppression.
Those who keep you towing the line
are the ones who send you off to war
while they sit back and wine and dine.

Take a minute and ask yourself,
“What the hell am I fighting for?”
Now, look into your baby’s eyes
and put down those weapons of war!

If you cannot kill your daughter or your son, then how can you kill someone elses? The same love and pride that you feel when you look at your own children, another mother and father across the seas is looking at their children in the exact same way. They just speak a different language when they tell their children how much they love them. Killing someone elses child should be just like killing your own. You couldn’t do it! Again, let the warhawks and the warmongers fight their own battles. You have no dog in that fight!

N.S., Thank You For Posting THIS Reality!! This Cannot Be Consigned To Oblivion!

Black power 1

N.S. Your comment is a ‘must read’! And, so without further ado!

Some blacks are having sense come back into them.

I am not on twitter, but apparently the phrase #not my mule has been coming up lately on black Twitter. It means that they do not want to go and fight all out for another group. Aside from the fact that they know we are the ethnic group most against homosexuality and transgenderism, those pushing homosexuality and transgenderism use only black people, NEVER any of the many other groups here in America for their purposes.

What black people here have been through cannot be compared to any other group except those other blacks who have been sent on slave ships. It is on a completely different level. Most of what we see in the so-called history books about what happened to us is so watered-down it is not really true. There is no good conventional explanation for why we are still here or not all completely insane. Yet despite what we go through, we have the lowest suicide rates, we are not insane, we don’t go around intentionally shooting everyone in a school, we are the most friendly group to everyone else(especially white people), etc(though some of us are a little too overconfident and are ignoring obvious signs, but that is a subject for another day).

https://www.thejournal.ie/readme/irish-slaves-myth-2369653-Oct2015/(Here is a link-not that you need it- by an Irishman historian showing that ‘the Irish were slaves too story’ is almost completely untrue; the last few paragraphs is good for anyone wanting a quick read)

Someone said (this is definitely non-PC): Black people get this in your head. You are hated more than Isis when they are defeated they will be given loans and live here in America in prosperity. You are hated more than any enemy this country has ever had. Yet you’ve never tried to destroy this country but ask for fair treatment. You are hated the most yet you have the least. This country revels in your misery and suffering. The more you suffer and experience anguish the happier they are.

As for who we are…look, everyone can see it but some of us. Whatever our identity is, we are definitely not inferior. I am not going to talk about it all today, but a few American historians here are finally admitting the obvious truth: America became a wealthy nation first off the slavery of “blacks”-and only “blacks”- and their work. Even afterwards, Lincoln couldn’t get us out the country after the civil war and Garvey was stopped during his “back-to-Africa” campaigns. The U.S., if it really did not need us since they claim we have always been a burden, many times could have sent us away but they haven’t. Even past slavery, blacks have been essential to the country.

According to declassified documents, the FBI declared the Black Panthers( a relatively small and non-violent group) was declared the number one threat during the Vietnam War and the battle against communism. Today, we have the fake “war on cops” and all the claims of riots that must require the governors calling in the National Guard when riots by whites-their team winning or losing an important game, a college tradition, Joe Paterno being fired- within the last ten years have caused far more property damage and loss of life(no one called in the National Guard). The strange this is we,as a group, do not hate the country.

N.S. that is your comment in its entirety from my previous post Black Power, If It Did Arise, Would Be Scary As Hell!

I posted this because it must not be relegated to the bottom of a page. It needs to be seen. I absolutely agree with everything that you have written.

Now, I am not on twitter either and so I don’t know anything about Black twitter or white twitter or what, but I am glad to see that some Black folks are coming to their senses and are finally recognizing that we are constantly being used for nefarious purposes by anyone with a fucked up agenda. Why would a Hungarian billionaire care about Black lives? There is an agenda there also. But Black folks hopped on board and away they went with it. Now, I do understand that since I live in the middle of nowhere, surrounded by farms and only occasionally am privy to a horse galloping by, I am not ‘with it’, not to mention that I also don’t own a TV, but be that as it may, I have seen nothing coming from that #BLACKLIVESMATTER group, lately. So, I don’t know what the fuck is going on with them.  But when they first started screaming and yelling, the group claimed to be totally inclusive, especially to those in the LGBT community. I don’t hold with that, but that is not the only reason that I could not get behind that group. Something is fishy and rotten when a white billionaire is going to sponsor a group for Black folks and at the head of the group are some ‘Black’ folks who work for him. It’s a bit too cozy for my taste. But Black folks jumped on board and went with it anyway.

What that group has done about anything that has been a problem in Black communities everywhere, I don’t know because I fail to find one single thing that #BLACKLIVESMATTER has done to improve the situation for Black folks ANYWHERE in AmeriKKKa! So-called ‘celebrities’ have thrown money at the group, but where is the bite to this group? Because I have only heard their bark and not a peep of a bark have I heard lately from them.

You are also correct when you state that “What black people here have been through cannot be compared to any other group except those other blacks who have been sent on slave ships. It is on a completely different level. ” That is oh SO true! There is a reason why I bring attention to the plight of the Indians even though I am under no obligation to do so since the only reason I am here illegally is due to the whites having dragged my ancestors here, so the Indians should have no beef with me. They know who to thank for my Black ass sitting over here looking cross-eyed. I bring the plight of the Indian up because I want it front and center in the ‘white’ man’s face just what the fuck his ancestors did to get that land he claims has been in his goddamn family for centuries. It’s fucking stolen land and he loves to forget that shit because he goes on and on about how hard he has worked and broke his back over clearing his land and blah blah chop chop. Fuck that shit! He didn’t do a goddamn thing to earn those acres he claim are his. What he fucking did was steal this land, claim it for his own and then kidnap our ancestors and cart them over here to toil over it and some mo shit! The ‘white’ man didn’t build a goddamn thing. He just prospered from theft and slavery and now wants to sit back just attempting to take the high road and blame the Indians for their plight and blame Black people for ours. I say to that, “Hell No!” I am putting it in his damn hypocritical lying ass face! That is why I stated that the Indians had it rough because a genocide was perpetrated against those people and we all know this. What is in the history books about them is not entirely true either.

Look at how these fools celebrate Thanksgiving; hanging pictures up of pilgrims graciously offering plates of food to the Indians. Talk about changing history, these useless pink fucks have been doing that since the beginning of time. If there ever was a Bible, you can damn sure bet that those pink fucks changed every goddamn word so that what applies to looting, stealing, enslaving and otherwise fucking people up and absconding with their shit would seem nice. But we are to believe in how saintly, good, kind and benevolent those worthless assholes are now and have always been and will forever be! I be damn it if their filthy ass shit is going to be forever whitewashed on MY motherfucking watch. To hell with that shit!

And these filthy pink fucks cannot understand why we are not the first ones to jump off skyscrapers at the first sign of trouble??!! Hell! Trouble is all we know! You’re also correct when you state that “we have the lowest suicide rates, we are not insane, we don’t go around intentionally shooting everyone in a school, we are the most friendly group to everyone else(especially white people” because these things we do not do, but we’re the problem????!!! Seriously? For real? These fucks would have everyone believe that Black folks are the problem. They point to the high murder rate in Chicago and whoop and holler about ‘Black on Black crime’ but what about ‘white on white’ crime? Who is always in the goddamn news for murder/suicides? Yeah, they be ‘white’. When I see an article about that, I don’t even have to wonder if they’ re ‘white’. I know they are. Those nasty fucks don’t even care about their own goddamn families! Oh my bad! They cared so damn much, they decided that it was the right thing to do to ‘off’ the family because if their life wasn’t going so great, may as well take ’em all out. So then, how can a thing like that ‘love’? It can’t, but it sure as hell can fuck shit up and blame it on those who it fucked up. Now, that’s rich!

And for the record, the Irish that IMMIGRATED to AmeriKKKa were not slaves. They ‘indentured’ themselves and that was on them. If they wanted to come to America so damn bad that they decided to sign on the dotted line to work a certain number of years to ‘work’ off their passage to America, then that was most definitely on them. But they did not come here in the bowels of a stinking slave ship, shackled to an African. That did not fucking happen. And I dare anyone to come all up in here and say it did. I’ll mop the cyber floor with your ass!

Someone said(this is definitely non-PC): Black people get this in your head. You are hated more than Isis when they are defeated they will be given loans and live here in America in prosperity

Hell! I can believe that! It would not be a stretch for the shits in this shithole to turn around and do that. According to some news reports, ISIS has already been invited over here. The ISIS hype is just that, hype. The government via the CIA is ISIS and every other convenient so-called ‘terror group’ that is formed, daily. You notice that they’ve got to invent names for them, there’s so many. And this fucked up government claims that it can do absolutely nothing with ISIS, but had no problem killing or jailing the majority of the Black Panthers. And The New Black Panthers are nothing like the original because if they were, shit would be popping off, unchecked! But nothing fucking doing!

The Somalis have been kidnapping folks and fucking up shit and yet, they are here, living in prosperity. I see descendants of slaves standing at the bus stop while the Somalis drive by in SUVs. I see descendants of slaves standing in line at the homeless shelter while Somalis are moved into townhomes. This continued ‘in our face’ shit is perpetrated deliberately by the white shits that want to make sure that descendants of slaves know just where we stand. Those worthless motherfuckers have never hid their disdain and hatred for us and I will never hide mine.

You say that many Black people love this country? Well, I cannot speak for them but I can say that it does not apply to me. Many Black people have taken up arms in defense of a shithole that would rather see them dead. That’s not me. I wish to fuck one of those useless bastards would come at me, talking about signing me up to protect this shithole because if they did, then the ‘christians’ hell hath no fury! I’d sign on the dotted line to fuck this shithole up, but never would I fuck another’s country up in defense of what I don’t even see as ‘my’ country because quite frankly, I am without a country. This shithole does not have to claim me because I disclaim it! And the NSA can be all over me like flies on shit, but I take the right to bear arms just as seriously as a goddamn skinhead does!

Absolutely, you are dead on the money over how Black folks get the National Guard called out on us for protesting over outright murder of one of our own by KKKops and yet those pink-skinned motherfuckers riot all the goddamn time over some damn basketball games and not a goddamn thing is said, much less will the National Guard get called out. This is not just a double standard, it is business as usual in this shithole! We cannot protest that an innocent man was murdered by KKKops without having the National Guard put a stop to it and initiate a goddamn curfew already, but let some white motherfuckers get all bent out of shape over their ‘team’ losing, bust shit up, roll cars over, set ’em on fire and some mo shit and that gets conveniently ignored. But there ain’t two sets of laws, is it? Of course not! It is all in our mind. To hell with that shit! We should ALL be crazy, but the fact is, we’re ALL too busy trying to survive to have time to be crazy! I’ll leave that to the pink motherfuckers since they just love to pack heat and then suck on it!

And so again, N.S., I thank you most sincerely for that spot on comment of yours! It is right on point!

Let’s Celebrate….!

"Mother of Exiles?"
“Mother of Exiles?”

Those of us who live in the United States of America have much to celebrate this July 4th, Independence Day. We should all proudly display the American flag because it represents our independence from British rule and hence a nation founded on freedom was born. We wake up each and every day in the land of the ‘free and the home of the brave’. There can be no complaints that we lack freedom because even our ‘money is free speech'(Citizens United) and by golly it spoke to the tune of over $5billion in the 2012 elections. Another great example of money over people, a bankroll over principles, hidden offshore accounts over paying taxes and yes, indeed that is most definitely something to celebrate.

We Americans have come a long way in ensuring that all citizens of this country are treated equally. We demand that the Indigenous Peoples of this land stop being shortchanged when it comes to what is rightfully theirs. We make damn sure that there is a level playing field for everyone. We not only had ‘no child left behind’ we have ‘no poor people left behind’. Everyone is housed, no one is lacking nourishing food, health care or gainful employment. Our power grids are the best in the world. Our roads and bridges are not in disrepair and on the verge of collapse. Pollution! What pollution? We have the cleanest air and water ever to be found, we would not stand for anything less. When we go to bed at night, we can sleep soundly in our beds because there is no need for people to engage in criminal behavior. Why should they? This is America! There is no need to rob or steal. Everyone can make it here, legally. We do not tolerate oppression, hate, disenfranchisement, division(separate but equal). There are no roadblocks to voter registration. We are free to place telephone calls to our loved ones without fear of being wiretapped. We can peruse the internet without fear that our keystrokes are being recorded by our government because this country was built on the premise of freedom from oppression. If you are oppressed, come here. We welcome you! The poem at the base of ‘Lady Liberty’ states just that.

Never let it be said that we condone drone strikes, war, torture, people detained indefinitely without due process. We mind our business and only engage in dialogue with other countries when asked. We are lovers of freedom and everyone in the world had better believe it because we are the torch bearers for freedom and justice for all! That is why every American citizen should celebrate Independence Day because America sets the bar high in freedoms for its citizens and that is a hard act to follow. We are to be envied because no other country has it so good!

“Damn! I just woke up!”
