Representative James Clyburn, who helped secure President-elect Joe Biden‘s path to the White House, expressed disappointment over the incoming administration’s lack of Black appointees.

While the most senior Black lawmaker in Congress welcomed the selection of Linda Thomas-Greenfield, a Black diplomat who served in the Obama administration, to serve as ambassador to the United Nations, Clyburn also said that Biden is falling short when it comes to naming Black people to cabinet seats and other top slots.

An official with the Biden-Harris transition defended the team’s picks to The Hill, noting that 46 percent of all staff are people of color and that women make up more than half of the team.

So there you have it, who needs Black people when POC, ‘People of Color’ and women who are not Black will do, save for one Black woman who should feel honored to get the position of ambassador to the United Nations, which is basically, just a glorified errand girl. Go before the United Nations as a representative of the states, sit and listen to moans and whines, whine when it’s your turn about the whining from the others and return to the states. But the positions of authority, clout and policy making and some more important shit are all going to whites and those who are anyone besides an American descendant of slavery, the same as it’s always been and always will be.

And so for those of you Black folks who cried tears of joy, and danced in the street and some more shit, because Biden/Harris have been declared victorious, Biden’s already showing you dumb asses that your tears of joy and dancing was a BIG, FUCKING WASTE OF TIME. The ink hasn’t even dried on the bastard’s presidential papers yet and he’s already showing you stupid Blacks just what’s what. And you’re sitting somewhere pretending to be shocked that he’s showing his true colors so soon. Are you stupid Black shits for real? Numerous other Black people tried to warn you, but you paid no heed and now your ass is looking dumb as hell.

When whites used the term, ‘POC’ otherwise known as “People Of Color,” that means ANY AND EVERYONE BESIDES AMERICAN DESCENDANTS OF SLAVERY. “Man In The Mirror!”

 

I would like to recognize and honor Michael Jackson with this post. That man could move me to tears every single time I heard him sing and every single time I saw him move. He cared so much about this planet and about the children and for that he was targeted. I don’t care how much he settled those erroneous lawsuits for and I don’t care what any media hounds printed about him. He was a victim of an abusive father and yet despite that and in defiance of that, he still went on to become the greatest living legend to have ever graced this planet.
That mess that we are forced to listen to on radios and IPods and other listening devices is not worth a farthing. What I wouldn’t give to be able to turn back the hands of time and change the circumstances under which Michael Jackson died. If only I could replay that day over, he would still be with us today, if I had anything to say about it.

I find myself going to YouTube and just watching and listening to the magic that IS Michael. I sit and shed tears whenever I hear “Man In The Mirror.” That song right there speaks volumes. What this world could look like if only each and every one of us looked in the mirror and if we did not like what we see, and most of us do not, confront the evilness in our hearts and fight against it, if we would confront the hatred and ugliness that consumes us and turn that into something positive, what a wonderful world this could be.

Can you just imagine what this world is going to look like in a mere five years from now if we continue down the road we are headed? There will be no bright future for our children and our grandchildren. That is a fact. What we lack is even the basics in humanity 101. We don’t even have the basics down pat to what it means to be ‘human’. How can we even look our children in the eye and say, “This world will be a better place for you when I am gone because I am going to see to it,” when we see to it that it gets more and more fucked up as each day passes. We are not only failing our children, we are failing ourselves. We moan and whine about some unseen forces that are in control of our lives and yet what do we do about things that are within our control? We do nothing but bellyache and complain and hope that some savior will come from who the hell knows where and do the hard part; carve a better future for us all. We are supposed to be doing that.

When was the last time you helped someone? Or saw someone in a store with not enough money to pay for their food and you stepped up and paid the difference? When was the last time you went to a shelter and handed out socks or personal hygiene items to those in need? When was the last time you passed by a homeless person and looked the other way? Consoled your conscience with the thought that, “Well, he probably is just scamming us?” It is so easy to tell ourselves that there is nothing that we can do about anything. For starters, you could visit a nursing home and brighten some sick and elderly person’s day. It does not have to always cost you money to do some good instead of just posting about how bad shit is. We all know this. Yeah, it’s bad, but what are we doing about it? How about we leave our keyboards, let them collect dust and help someone instead of bringing the stories of the downtrodden for us to scroll and peruse, and instead, blog about the fact that you got off your ass and took canned goods to a food shelf and said, “Pass it on! Play it forward!” Blogged about the fact that you ladled soup out at a homeless shelter, and said, “Pass it on! Play it forward!” Blogged about the fact that you cleaned out your closet, found winter coats that you couldn’t wear and donated them, “Now pass it on! Play it forward!” Blogged about the fact that you brightened a child’s day by tutoring him/her and again said, “Pass it on! Play it forward!” There are programs in every city in every state that need volunteers. If we really want to provide a better future for our children and grandchildren, then don’t bother looking to Bernie Sanders to get it done. Don’t bother looking to Hillary Clinton to get it done or Donald Trump. You be the change that makes a difference. No politician is going to ever get it done. We, the people have it within our power to help one person at a time. When will you write about what you have done to help someone as opposed to writing about what you hope some politician will do?

Stand and look in your mirror. You be the ‘man’ in the mirror. Not Bernie Sanders. Not Hillary Clinton. Not Donald Trump. Not Jeb Bush, but YOU! Change can start with YOU and ME! “Pass it on! Play it forward!” Make that change!

But you’ve got to be kept in line, praying to god to fill your empty pantry so that you can feed your children while corporate executives swill the finest wines and eat the choicest of meats and delicacies. Why are they not concerned about getting to ‘heaven’, entering the Pearly Gates, meeting up with St. Peter, ‘getting through the eye of a needle’?

It is because this is all a lie! A big, gigantic lie to keep the sheep, docile with the hope that some deity is going to reward them for the hardships that they endure on this planet and not look at those who have hoarded all the wealth and rise up! Religion is a tool to control people and I’ve got to say, it IS working!

Wake up people! No one is going to rescue you or save you, but you! Stop allowing yourself to be controlled. The shit that the ‘poor man’s Pope adorns himself with could feed a small country in Africa, but you don’t see him refusing to wear it. Frustrated!

Many times I have wanted to call it quits with regards to doing this ‘blogging’ thing and many times I have decided to forge ahead, to continue. Even though, like many, frustration kicks in because you put so much effort in before you click that ‘publish’ button. Some will get a few ‘likes’ and maybe even a comment or two and you think to yourself, “why did I go through all of the effort to research, to type and to find relevant images to display?” “Why has no one enjoyed the epiphany that I have experienced? Don’t they see what I see and if they do, then why have they not acted upon it? I’ve given them all the data they need in which to do what needs to be done.” Now, therein lies the problem. Do what? What can they do? What am I doing? I have been over this forwards, backwards, sideways, upside and down and there is just nothing that can be done to solve a multitude of the problems and issues that many face on a daily basis.

There will be no savior to sort this out for us. There will be no one person who will stand above the crowd and ‘fix it’. There will be no second coming of Christ, for those of you who believe in the first coming of Christ. We go on each day until there is no ‘next’ day. We open our eyes. We get out of bed and we do what we have to do to survive. This has been going on for centuries and it will continue until either we fuck this planet up to the point where it expels us all or we drop dead. GMO foods may kill us, a drone may kill us, or a vehicle accident may kill us, but either way, we will be just as dead. There is no way that we can fight every single battle there is. We are human and we are weak and fallible and the human body is going to seek sustenance over spirituality when push comes to shove. We can think that we have all the inherent goodness in the world, but if it came down to sacrificing ourselves in some way(I don’t know quite how) for the good of the many, what would you do? What sacrifice is worth it? What would be the point? What would change? History has shown us that even those who are held in high esteem, the ones who are in the history books for effecting change, what good did it do them? They sacrificed themselves to make people aware of the suffering and injustices perpetrated on others and look at where we are now? Not just here in America, but all over the world. What good did it do for the Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., to step out of his comfort zone and get assassinated for his efforts when the Supreme Court just dealt a blow to all that he and others marched and protested, got arrested and brutalized for? What good does it do to quote Gandhi? What good does it do to quote Mother Teresa? What good does it do to quote Malcolm X? George Orwell? Or any other ‘visionaries’ who tried to warn us of where we were headed.

Yes, some people have awakened, took a look around and said, “we’re fucked!” But what else can they do? If they have not the money to build affordable homes for the poor, if they have not the money to purchase land to grow food for the hungry, if they have not the money to pay the medical bills of the uninsured or money to simply put to good use and help as opposed to aiding in destruction, then there is nothing that they can do except to try to not contribute to the problem. There are so many so-called faith based charities that are nothing more than tax exempt corporations who are not helping the poor, they are not mitigating the consequences resulting from a lack of housing, food and health care. They are in the business of lining their pockets with one hand and preaching bullshit on the other. It is hypocrisy. That is all I see when I look around, hypocrisy in the guise of charities and government officials who grandstand to win votes and then disregard their constituents needs and instead, sell themselves to the highest corporate bidder for their own selfish agenda. Self is another key word of today. Selfish, self-fulfillment, self-serving, self-centered, self indulgent, self-satisfying, self, self and self. It is all about ME, well isn’t it? If not, who is it about? Is it about YOU? What can I do for you? What can you do for me? You scratch my back and I will scratch yours. That is the mindset of today.

Why do you think that when the holidays approach, people will gladly line up and stand in freezing, below average temperatures and trample each other over what is considered to be an unbeatable bargain? Why are they like that? Why is it that they can somehow find the time to pitch a tent for a week or more in a store parking lot to grab that huge TV, but when it comes to lining up to protest against homelessness, hunger, lack of medical care, there are a few stragglers wandering around with signs while people pass by them in vehicles yelling at them to “get a job!?” No one yells at those who are lined up to buy the latest Apple product to, “get a job!” The emphasis is placed on materialism to the exclusion of all else. If you don’t have it, you’re a loser. There are going to be winners, but there are going to be so many more losers and the winners have the microphone. The winners own the papers, the media and they feed us Kim Kardashian and Justin Bieber and Rihanna and we eat it up. When Kate Middleton or Michele Obama struts an outfit, there is a stampede to purchase said outfit. That is what is important? No, but it is to those who have been programmed by the people who control the media and who shove down their throat what is important.

So, just because we have not joined forces and somehow stopped a world takeover does not mean that all of us are simply sitting around awaiting the latest chapter on Tim Tebow, it is just that we are all limited in what we can do. I can volunteer. I can advocate on behalf of those who are suffering. I can even sometimes help house a homeless person. I can continue to keep the issues in the forefront. It does not matter if I never get a ‘like’ or a following. If I am talking to myself, so be it. The fact that I am sharing my thoughts, sharing what is important to me, sharing my frustration at the status quo may be all that I can do because I see no other way to get my two cents in, but I will not point the finger at another and say, “you are not doing enough.” I know not what they are dealing with and so I will concentrate on what I am dealing with and hope that I can somehow find it in me to help someone else, even if it is only one person. I cannot change the world. I can only say to the world, “we’re fucked!”

The American Mindset:Complacency And Apathy

What I cannot understand is what happened to the American Spirit, the American Drive, that great American Force that was to be reckoned with. Where has it gone and can we get it back?

I am going to be brutally honest here. We Americans have nothing to be proud of because we have become a nation of ‘wusses’. We have sat idly by and watched the erosion of our rights. With barely a whimper from anyone, we are now radiated and ‘felt-up’ in order to board a plane. We are wire-tapped, our emails are checked. Our every move is recorded and we never even raised an eyebrow. What that says about us is that our complacency and apathy is the rule and not the exception. We love to speak of how and why this country was founded. We will talk until we are blue about how the War for Independence was fought by mostly farmers with some muskets, pistols, rifles and bayonets. How the British were driven from our shores and how the American Colonists declared their independence from Great Britain. I cannot tell that the Americans of today are even remotely related to the firebrands of that era. Would they have stood for this mess? Highly doubtful. Would they even recognize the attitude that is prevalent in the American mindset of today? I don’t think so. We simply do as we are told because we are a fearful group of people. We fear everything. We have become so soft, that without our creature comforts, what the hell would happen to us? Many of us think that we are struggling, but we don’t really know what struggling is. Not yet, but we’re getting there!

Our government continues year after year to play games with fiscal cliffs, debt ceilings, government shutdowns, sequestration and we re-elect these fools every year to the point where we have ‘career politicians’. Then we in turn, whine when we cannot tour the White House? You want to know why we cannot take a tour of the White House? Look in the mirror and say this, “I voted for that shit that represents me and who is getting not a damn thing done in Washington that is for the benefit of this country. I am to blame for the sad lack of leadership and the irresponsible behavior of the thugs I helped to elect and sent to Washington, DC and who have taken my tax dollars and spent them irresponsibly to the tune of more than $16 trillion dollars, add interest on that and I am so screwed and loving it because why else did I vote for that shit?” I am serious! Please do just that. All of us. We are all guilty, even those who do not vote. It is also our fault that we have let our election process get so out of control, that money is the deciding factor in who gets elected, it is not based on the merits of the individual running for public office, or because he or she is devoted to the wellbeing of ALL Americans, he or she is elected because they raised the most money, had the biggest corporate backers, the most ‘on air’ time. For us it is business as usual. Playing with our smartphones, ‘liking’ each other on Facebook, tweeting, texting, sexting and driving around in our SUVs being distracted because we’ve got our toys so we don’t sweat the big stuff.

Let me state it more plainly: When you didn’t speak up when they hauled that man away because he refused to give up his right to peacefully protest, when you didn’t speak up when they hauled that woman away for protesting about unfair labor practices on her job, when you didn’t speak up when a man was jailed because he had no where to live and urinated up against a building since he was denied entrance to use a restroom, when you didn’t speak up when you saw people who were lined up at a soup kitchen being turned away, when you didn’t speak up after seeing a cop beating, stomping and kicking a handcuffed woman, when you didn’t speak up after you saw an elderly lady being abused in a nursing home, just who do you think is going to be left to speak up for you? Apathy and complacency? And how well do you think you will fare when those two come to your rescue?!
